Well, as if you lot need a reason to party.......but I will give you one anyway.....just so you can feel ok about gatecrashing

Having worked out the numbers.......I have been able to pay £800 to the debt......taking me below £20k.

I am now in the teens, debt wise :T It has also brought our ultimate MFD forward by a month.

The reason for actually doing the transfer today, is because when I hit a milestone like this, I often have a low period for a few days after, despite it being good news......so I thought that if I do it just as I am about to go on holiday, the low period won't hit me in the same way because I will be too busy having fun.

So.......here's to the next batch of debt busting - skiing is all accounted for now, so I can throw my odds and ends of MSE money back at the debt and see if we can get rid of it once and for all in the next few months.

Enjoy your break. With DFD being a month sooner, your house move schedule moves closer too.

I wonder what the new re-energised Hypno will be up to in 2010 :)

Thanks everyone.......it is quite odd to know that the figures we have been aiming at for so long are now here! I am very much looking forward to concentrating on that last bit of debt - yes, I know that £20k is still a lot of money to owe, and for some it would seem horrific......but compared with the numbers of "old", £20k seems positively miniscule :o

Might go and reward myself with a look at the property pages that I didn't get chance to flick through yesterday ;)

The more the debts decrease the better deals you tend to get offered, so maybe this will trigger some nice ones in the new year to help bring things forward even quicker :)

Well, I have a couple in reserve already - from not being able to get any sort of friendly deal at all, I have my current 0%, but I also have a guaranteed 0% from both Halifax and Barclays if I want them. My only reason for not taking them is because I could not balance transfer my loans to them as neither card would do a transfer to either the loan or a current account..........

But it is a definite glimmer of light compared with the doom of recent years!

Have a lovely holiday...are the family all prepared for your week of absence?

Well, the freezer is full of oven chips, pizza, burgers etc. I think the healthiest thing in there is fish fingers :o

    They'll be fine

That is the only thing I worry about - whether they will wake up.......although I am sure they will be ok, because they KNOW I am not there to get up first.........OH is buying new batteries today for his alarm clock.....

Ah well, it won't be my problem :rotfl:
