Ooh, according to MSE news - the Nationwide reckons that house prices will fall again next year......this could be good news for me :D

I think RICs (the chartered surveyors) said something similar too earlier in the month. If its said twice it must be true :rotfl: Although I'm not knocking it, it would mean that my place not selling before Xmas is a blessing in disguise as I don't think the price will drop much more on my flat but will mean the prices where I want to move may stay in my reach.

Yep, good news for me if prices drop a bit - doubt it will be for long though - or significant enough to make a real difference

Taka - Manchester is a great city with lots to offer and fantastic shops! (not that I go in them any more :D)

Cambridge.........that's nice too and very MSE because you can spend all day wandering around University colleges pretending to be a skint academic!

One of my New Year's resolutions for the past 3 years has been to visit more places in the UK and I keep failing miserably! So it will be on the list again for next year :o

I agree with Lemon Tree - York is one of my fave cities. And I think it's on one of the train routes from Edinburgh if I remember rightly

I would recommend Nottingham but more things are now closed than open at the moment  it's a bit of a ghost town.
