Good luck with the viewings raquela - I'm sure you will get what you need.

DD is home from China - very tired and with a hacking cough but has had a good time......she went straight to bed, so I've not got much out of her - I think she will sleep until about Monday

So which plague has she brought back? The China Syndrome?

I think it was made worse by the fact that smoking is allowed everywhere......she now realises how "clean" our air is, especially indoors!

Cough aside, I think she has had a fab week.....I'll hear more about it when she is awake no doubt!

Oh I remember that in Turkey in the winter - coal fires everywhere, I couldn't breathe.

Interesting interest rate discussion - Raquela, that house is *massive* - do you live in one like that _pale_

Its odd about what houses we want - I feel like I *should* want a big house - but in fact, I don't - there's just the one of me, and tho I'd really like a detached, I'll put up with a semi. The only way I'd go bigger than what I'm looking at (or what I've got, actually) is if I had a cleaner.

I know exactly what you mean (except the part about "when" you grow up!! :) Its crucial for me to have my own space, always has been. The thing about thinking I should want a big house - well, its what we're conditioned for, isn't it? Onwards and upwards, as I've written. But Doris Lessing puts the question really well: to what purpose? You can get into the grind of trying to fulfil all the stereotypes and not have anything left for yourself. I'm happy enough at this level, at this level I'd rather spend what money I've got on quality of life outside the home - I had another reminder today of how important that is, a newish friend I'd not seen for a while popped up in the central library while I was there - she has cancer. Lots of secondaries - and they can't even tell her where the primary site is. Life can be very short.

Um, speaking of which - I'm for a cup of tea and off to bed. But thanks to all on this and my thread who've been posting about property and how we pay for it, its a subject much on my mind at the moment.

    Night all.

Scratches and banking done - £9.50 mystery shopping money in so I have transferred that to the 0%.....I seem to be throwing everything at that card but the balance is going down frustratingly slowly

Other than that, nothing to report - hope you all have a good day!

Yes, most of mine is on LOB which are at more or less exactly the same rate as my mortgage....
Having said that, someof it is not. So, that does put a different slant on things...interesting chat, thanks all.

Something no-one has mentioned is motivation. There is great satisfaction in clearing a debt totally. Yeah, cross it off a list :)

Then whatever you were paying to that debt pay to the next one etc. The benefit of that is that by the time you have paid them all off bar the mortgage you will have a largeish sum to overpay the mortgage each month. That means you will see a real reduction each month which keep the motivation going. Simples :)

    In theory anyway :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
