well done benben - I had 1tg on that game, so I am glad it was a DFW who beat me to it :D

gallygirl, I agree with the motivation - it has to be whatever spurs us on.....in my case that changes from month to month, so I keep switching targets/methods!

But I suppose it seems to be working, so I'll stick with my hit and miss way of doing things!

Right off to work - but no doubt will pop on later! Have a good one!

    Good morning,

On the credit card paying off discussion. Why not put the money you would pay off in an ISA or savings account, then if you can't get a 0% when the current offer finishes you just pay it off, then you can keep it in the account getting interest until 0% deals finish or until the minimum monthly repayments have cleared the balance. I know the interest rates on savings aren't brilliant, but it's all money.

I know there's motivation in clearing debt's, but if you can offset it with savings and can repay at any point, it's not really a debt anymore.

Hope your DS & DD are feeling better this morning.

Like I say, it is all good if it is going into the hands of a DFW........:D

se, I worry that if I try and save against the debt I will spend it........I AM getting better in those areas, but I do still worry about the temptation, especially when I could easily use it for skiing etc (signed DS up for a January away again, so am already trying to account for that too).....whereas on the 0% it is def coming off the debt, but at the same time, if I have a true true emergency, eg boiler blows up, I am freeing up the credit balance on the 0% card which I would be able to use in an absolute emergency, but that I am not tempted to use for a non-emergency due to the locking in of higher APRs.

Aaaargh.....this one is on THE road I have dreamed of since I was a little girl.

OK, so it is not the Edwardian or Georgian that I would like, but then the budget is much more realistic.

It has lots of work to do, but I reckon it could have potential.

If it were up for sale in 12 months time, I would be hammering down those internal walls.............

When we've had things really tight in the past, we've always gone for cash spending and avoided any credit spending as it was too high a risk, so I do understand where you're coming from.

We're househunting at the moment, unfortunately your area isn't practical for us, you do have some really nice houses at relatively nice prices.

Ooooh it is lovely - what a lovely project and the gardens! That is the beauty of properties in Norfolk - there are so many hidden treasures dotted about - unfortunately, where we live (currently) - those kind of gems seem to have all been snapped up by the builders and refurbed and sold on or knocked down and flats built on the land.

Thats a fantastic family house, Hypno, I love it - ooh, I can see a way that both the bedrooms at the top can have en suites. Knock a wall down and get a massive kitchen/diner. Really lovely, and I *like* the look of it.
