My wins there are fairly few and far between because I can only play outside work times, and they are the times when the world and his wife wants to play too......but from time to time it goes my way :D

Sorry to hear about the job Hiphouse - hope something comes your way soon.

I haven't been brave enough to do the bingo sites - I have a deep mis-trust of gambling - I don't know why as I've never gambled other than 50p on Grand National and don't personally know anyone who has had a problem with it - obviously if it is used to your advantage and walk away when winning - it can pay. But I'm always suspicious and don't trust myself not to have 'just another go' - think I must just be one of lifes scaredy cats. Keep on winning everyone!!!

When does dd come home Hypno?
    January spends - £587.58
  • Thanks to everyone for good wishes - I have been a bit surprised by the shock of it, if that makes sense. However, having joined the "make £10 a day" in January this year, I've got a buffer to cover essentials. This, in spite of the fact that on that I've never hit target on that thread :o

The bottom line is that I'm not going to go hungry, and I'm not going to lose my home. For that I am truly grateful. I've just signed up for PlusNet broadband to save £11 per month. I've a good stock of dried foodstuffs to cut grocery costs and I've not yet turned on the heating since the summer and now have no intention of doing so until it gets cold enough (I've a fabulous fleece that keeps me warm).

Each day shall take care of itself and as long as I keep doing what I need to, I'll be fine. To everyone who's offered support my sincere thanks - it really does make such a difference, truly. And just to show you it's all good, my favourite icon :D

Glad that you have the basics covered and it's amazing what you can save by checking all your DDs.
  • Superb work on the shopping Hypno - when you see a saving like that it makes it well worth doing it online and taking a bit more time over it doesn't it.

In other news, today I've been told my job ends tomorrow  It's not unexpected when there's a recession, but it's a shock nevertheless. I've updated the CV and applied online to a couple of jobs, but appreciate I'm one of hundreds doing this.

I'm going to really have to pull my finger out to get some money in. DT, I know this is really cheeky, but can you PM details of K1ngjackp0t? I've just played through £5 on B!ngoBr1tain and not won anything, but I'll be patient. I'm a couple of weeks away from pay out on the scratchies. Think I need to sign up for Mystery Shopping, though frankly it scares me witless.

May be a chance to read through Matched Betting, but not now - my heads all over the place. Thanks for the thread - it's the first place I came to share my news :D

Thanks Hip, ummmmm... yeah just read it!

Dammit, that would've been good money for Walshy drinks or a credit card payment! Oh well! :rotfl:

Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!

How do you amass £70k in a year?!
  • And I would like to say sorry about the job! I also recommend the wonders of Linked in! What's your specialism and location because if it's HR in London, well... I know lots of recruitment consultants (I know it's a dirty word but this time next year, we'll all be using them like proverbial biscuit munchers! :D)

    Hey Hypno!

Sorry to bug you again, but I've just been looking at B1ng0Br1ta1n and I'm just wondering what's the minimum you can deposit: I can't seem to find the info anywhere!

    Thanks! :)

Hi hypno that is a good saving on the shopping. I did a big shop like that over here. I am trying really hard not to replace anything untill other things have been eaten. So it is a challenge to make a different meals each week.

by the way if it was someone on here who gave the recipe for bacon, potato and leek bake, i tried it and it was well nice!

bacon leek and potato bake - it wasn't me but it sounds delish so if someone could post the details I would be grateful!

pickle - the min amount to deposit is £5 but the minimum to withdraw is £20.

Hiphouse, I'm glad the £10 a day challenge has made a difference to you. Hope today goes ok.

milann - DD is home on Thursday evening. It seems like she has been away for ages! I hope she has had a good time.

Off to bank, scratch and drink coffee....have a good day everyone x
