MSE News: 'I bought car insurance for 96p'

I would like to know how she got the Swinton cashback AND the Quidco cashback.
If you go to the Swinton website directly it mentions the £40 cashback and displays a code you have to enter to get it.
If you go via Quidco you are taken to a different home page with no mention of any cashback or promotional codes. By coincidence, the Quidco cashback is also £40.
I would not be surprised if one of them is denied if you try to claim both.
Just to confuse matters, if you go via Monesupermarket the cashback supposedly jumps to £100.
I bet whichever route you take, you will end up paying the same in the end - and it will be a lot more that 96p!
It's all a big con.
This is story is a real possibility as I can vouch for it. I took the route and same Swinton insurance company but Via Topcashback and get cash back off both Swindon and topcashback. Swinton gave me £40 cheque and topcashback gave me
£56.65! I think Barbara would've made a Profit of few pounds if she had gone through Topcashback! They give you a bonus on top of the actual cashback amount. If i had known then what I know now!

Thanks for the interest in my story...in answer to some of your questions. yes using a c/c wasn't a very good move this time but when companies go bust it sure is...Quidco got paid in sept and the cheque from swinton has also arrived. Yes I do have a diary and I never accept the renewal quote for anything:rotfl:0

I'll settle for anything under a third or half of what I pay now, (last sept about £250 for full comp for a 1.9 TDi Diesel 5yr old VW Bora) but of course I'd love to have it for £100 or £50 or just keep going down till I get it for a £1 but how in the world does someone get car insurance for a £1 (or 96p in the case Martin highlighted) some one tell me the secret pleeeeease0

96p is a bit over priced for a policy from Swintons0

Secret is to read the date on the posts, 2009.....Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Hello, I did the usual quotes on insurance websites and found that Swinton was the most competitive by a long way on moneysupermarket. I looked at cashback sites and found that if it tracks topcashback offers £27ish back, once on swintons webpage i found they gice you a discount code for £30 cashback if the policy is still in place in 3 months. Initially the quote was £64 hopefully if all goes well with the cashback it will be £7 fully comp and protected no claims. GET IN - Result
Well worth a little bit of research0
