I got paid to have my car insurance a couple of years ago. At the time insurance sites were giving large (upwards of £100) cashback payouts through the cashback sites, although the cashback levels do seem to have reduced since then.
But in 2007 I got a quote for £96 for third party insurance on a little old banger I was running at the time. The cashback I received was £120.
Result - they paid me £24 to insure my car with them for the year

Has she actually got her payment from Quidco yet, it seems that many people do not, especially from some insurers.0

It wasn't 96p though. For some reason she paid on a credit card which incurred a £2.42 charge.
Comprehensive cover with protected NCD doesn't sound like "the best policy ever". There are loads of other benefits which could be missing from the policy. What's her compulsory excess on the policy?
I don't believe what anyone says they pay for car insurance.0 -

I like the way the MSE article states the £2.42 was "voluntary". I also noticed how they made a play on there was no voluntary excess and conveniently forgot to mention what the compulsory excess is. For a financial website it would have been more helpful if they had reported the facts without it being sensationilised.0 -
Well, the £2.42 WAS voluntary, in that it was totally avoidable.
It would be silly to include that in the cost for the purpose of the article.0 -
Credit Card charge???, are Swinton part of Ryanair?;)0
