I went via Topcashback though that link and then car insurance and it display the code once you got through inputting your details
I just getting some quotes and once of cheapest was Aviva for me, I rang my old insurance company as policy doesn't run out until 1st Nov 2009 asking for NCD proof as Avia may need it as may others, they seem very cagey about sending it to me and only after its expired0 -
Can anyone tell me is there body that keeps information for insurance companies for NCD for example
Because its a real pain getting proof of for example you used a couple of companies over the years and not claimed0 -
There is no company / body that keeps a record of all no claims bonuses, all you need to do is send in the Renewal Notice from the most recent Insurer0

My previous insurance doesn't say how many years though, I seem to recall that insurance company told me they share information etc, there is a central database that tell you if a registered car is insured which is in public domain
Every time I take out a new policy I get asked that I need to provide proof even though I been using same company for 4-5 years because I sign up as a new customer. At one point I got threatened that they will cancel my policy if I dont provide proof, in end I said go ahead as I was sick of it and they accepted when I called there bluff
I never claimed once in almost 20+ years of driving but I did leave a small gap when I didn't drive for pleasure only work vehicles so had to start again0 -
There is no central database that confirms no claims bonuses, there are databases on claims and who Insurers which vehicle (But does not record no claims bonus).
All you have to do is send the "Renewal Notice" as this is the standard proof of no claims bonus proof0 -
Just got my renewal noticed it arrived in post this morning, it says I got 6 years no claims, but I been driving since may 2000 so I have another 2 years, one was with Norwich union and the other one I dont know who I was with0

Most companies don't count above 5 years anyway so probably won't make any difference to your premium.Just got my renewal noticed it arrived in post this morning, it says I got 6 years no claims, but I been driving since may 2000 so I have another 2 years, one was with Norwich union and the other one I dont know who I was with0 -
I got a quote from swinton last night, and decided to go with Aviva as its slightly cheaper with £70 cash back from topcahsback
I always tick boxes not to get marketing calls but got one today from Swinton asking about the quote, I did tell a slight lie saying I am still looking but before I knew it then put me through to another company who asked me questions and offered me another quote.
Its one reason I do this on line dont want the marketing sell or call backs0 -
Good point about the NCB! I have been driving for 15 years and have had fully comp throughout - so i do in theory have 15 years no claims, but most companies as stated above only show or care about the last 5/6 years!
I'd personally like some reward, maybe a trophy for reaching 20 years (fingers crossed) (Maybe not the most appropriate smiley) :A0 -
I'm currently looking and the cheapest so far for 10 year old car, over 50 retired driver, low annual mileage, fully comp to include protected no claims, £0 vol excess and £100 comp excess.............including breakdown cover and allowing for a speeding fine is £165.72 with CIS. I also get £70 cashback from TopCasgback making it £95.72 for the insurance and breakdown cover! I paid £37 for breakdown alone last year, so the insurance comes in at just £58.72.:j0
