At the moment we are with AOL, Primus for calls and BT for line rental. We make occasional calls to EU countries and check with Int callchecker first.

It sounds quite a good deal but reading through the forum a lot of people appear against TalkTalk. I am not in favour of a 24 month contract - is that the normal contract time these days?
    .

It is normal for Talk Talk, but not normal for a decent ISP, my contract is 30 days only, I would never sign up to a an ISP that insists on a 24 month contract, especially Talk Talk.

To anyone thinking of joining TalkTalk check out their customers forum on talktalkmembers.com/forum before deciding to take the plunge. I have been hung up on by their "customer service staff" countless times, been lied to by sales staff when promised the only difference I will notice between Talk 3 International that I was on, and MyTalkTalk they wanted to move me to, would be free 0870 and 0845 and it would only cost an extra 50p. She didn't happen to mention that I would lose the free international calls! And they have just admitted defeat in their attempt to steal TalkTalk Mobile customers remaining credit which was left over when they decided to close the service down when BBC Watchdog got involved!

Some customers must receive a great service without any problems, but be warned when it starts to go wrong!

Personally I'd steer well clear of Talk talk, especially for internet. The number of services they block at peak times is unreal. I once tried to transfer my services to Talk talk and in the process got involved in a long game of ping pong. So pleased it failed and I had to stick with my current provider.

Well I have been with talk talk for over 2 years and speeds upto 8meg was about 5-6meg until i had a fault with my hardware and BT replaced my cables. Now my upto 8meg is over 10meg even at peak times. Only ever had 1 problem with my landline not working but they just put my calls through to my mobile. Saved me a fortune and would recomend to anyone as even the call centres are all in india now even BT
