I went for a bike ride, dont use sunbed though, Im fair skinned and will get cancer. I used to go on them when I was 18 -20 years old once or twice a week. Lots of people at my workplace use them.
I have emailed the manchester canal people if I can volunteer to help clear litter and help restore the canal which is five mins from me. if i can do it on sundays when I am free that will help me get out and meet more people.
They have cleared a large section of the path and feel that they areslowly making changes here.
:j:j fab about the volunteering, sounds like a great idea - and you never know who you might meet? At least anybody you do meet will have a shared interest, a great way to make new friends
I know the sunbed is naughty
but it does help my eczema (and as I am very pale I do like to look brown

Great idea with the volunteering. I joined a local womens group in the Summer, we have meetings once a month and we do various things such as marches, summer fairs and other campaigns. There is also a social side to it too which is great. Obviously you need to join something that suits your own interests so the canal sounds great. It is free exercise if nothing else and will be fab to see the improvements to the canal path as you work on it!
I live on my own too (well sort of, but my flatmates don't count!!!) and I would be horrified if someone didn't accept my invitation because they thought I was sad for living on my own. In fact I would be glad they had refused as I would have no time for that kind of person at all!! Please don't let other peoples perceptions rub off on you, living alone is just as valid as living with a partner, a family, a friend, a cat or anyone / thing else.
I have not used this but a good friend of mine has - there is a website called meetup and this website has a list of various groups based geographically and on various topics. My friend has gone along to 'meetups' that are in her part of London as she wanted to make friends who lived close to her. Basically it was a bunch of people who met up every so often in a pub. However there are groups for all sorts of things. I just put in cinema and London and it brought up 44 different groups. I've also just tried Manchester (you are based near there right??) and it brought up 105 groups. Obviously not all of these are going to suit but I'm sure there are a few that might be cool to go along to???
Shoegal - well done on the gym, I'm booked in for circuits tomorow morning before work and dreading the early start but I'm going with a work colleague who is a gym bunny so I have to go as I'm meeting her there!!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction

hi thanks for that makeup I did have a gander at the meetup site, but found most of them had a membership fee and there were none in bury. Im really on a tight budget and can't outlay money for these things, even a drink out. I know it sounds strange but I really have not got the spare cash. My friend liz only wants to meet me for friday nights in bury, she does not drive and we have gone shopping twice but she is with a partner she hates and is a grandma too, shes 52 so maybe Im with the wrong friend.
I always travelled in my car to see my auntys etc and mum and dad and felt I was making all the effort so you can understand why I have started thinking to myself 'look after no 1'.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
Evening all:)
I have lost 2lbs:j Sadly it was the 2lbs I put back on:o but it's still a loss. I want to lose 5lbs in March so am happy with that.
Have had the most boring day ever, doing my ebay stuff. Not sure what I was so excited about when I was doing it last week.
It is very dull indeed. Apart from a quick trip to the shop I have been trapped indoors all day, wrapping and labelling stuff sold this weekend, taking photos, writing descriptions and loading things up on to ebay. It has taken most of the day:( but I now have everything ready to go to the Post Office tomorrow and eight new listings up.
I am a bit disappointed as a few of the things sold today went for very close to the starting price and I think I may have underestimated the postage.
I will still make a profit and I was only selling cheap things so not too much damage but I have been much more realistic with the things I have listed today.
I still have loads to get through:( but hopefully I will eventually be decluttered and have lots more space. :j I can see this taking some time though:(
Hope everyone has had a good weekend:)Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Well done on the sales and more listings, Sarahb! It might take a bit of time, but remember you are decluttering and making money :A
Tracey - I was thinking this afternoon about your post and was going to suggest voluntary work, but you're already considering it. I'm hoping to start doing some charity work soon. It's free, you will meet people and possibly learn new skills that you can put on your CV and will boost your confidence. If you can find something you're interested in, it's a win-win situation and you never know who you might meet or where it might lead.
Is anybody watching Dancing on Ice? How good was Hayley Tamandon(sp?)??? Awesome!

Well done Sarah on your sales. X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
I have a dilemma. I was thinking this afternoon that I'm out of my normal Lancome moisturiser. I've been using a much cheaper M&S one recently, but my make up just doesn't blend well on top of it and looks pretty awful to be honest  I haven't cared too much because I've just been going to work or seeing family etc. However, POF man has said that he wants to meet up now on more than one occasion, so I really think I need to get myself looking half decent. Anyway, long story short (or perhaps not!) I decided I need some more good moisturiser. I can get it from Strawberrynet.com for £29.50 or I can get it from Boots for £36 with Boots points and a free gift...apparently worth £47. I would use most of the gift (make up remover, cleanser, toner, mascara...the serious anti-aging creams I might use or give to Mum...which leaves the perfume and the lipstick...which I could sell on ebay?) Hmm, not sure what to do...

Gwen I have the driest skin ever and when I'm in the money i.e when I was overseas I used to use dear ones but now I just slap on the Nivea Soft and it's great! Which one was it?'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hi Souk
It's Lancome Bienfait Multivital Fluid. It's the best moisturiser I've found for my skin, but I've never tried Nivea. My skin is kind of dry and a bit oily. It's very, very confused.
