Hi everybody
Last night was fun, friends who stayed over have just left
Need to keep my motivated head on - need to tidy up, get some food in, get petrol etc - usual Sunday stuff :rolleyes:Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hello
Had a fun evening last night. The play was a lot better than I'd imagined and I learnt something  As my friend said, watching a 1hr 45 min play on financial crisis totally made up for not reading the 'proper' news for about 2 years....!!! It was quite funny and I enjoyed the way it was done.
We also went for drinks afterwards. I have this terrible problem of never remembering what drinks actually cost in a pub. I keep thinking a round of drinks will be about a fiver and it is always over a tenner.... I don't know what I'm thinking really, I mean I know you never get a gls of wine for £2.50 but somehow my adding up never works. Last night I said blithely, don't worry I'll get these and I had about £8 in my purse and the bill was £10.25...luckily my friend was with me at the bar so didn't look too bad but I felt a right idiot
Well I'm off now for a free afternoon of artiness (hooray for pals with free entry to galleries) and possibly a nice cup of tea and a cake somewhere.
Have a good Sunday.I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
I am the same with bar prices

Am trying to motivate myself to get some housework done but too lazy to carry the hoover downstairs. I was going to try to get a lot of my room decluttered but that will have to wait until my week off.
I have weighed myself and not put any on:j so am still at 8lbs but quite happy with that, would like to lose another 2lbs this week as 10lb will make me feel like I am finally getting somewhere. Can't say I have noticed my clothes are fitting any better though:rolleyes:

Hi sarah
Sounds like you are really sticking to your frugality plans - and it sounds like weightloss might be an added bonus to not spending on cr*p
I am planning to have a serioulsy good November - when I get back from hols  Will come up with a detailed plan nearer the time but will definately include weightloss and debt busting. It would be really good to go into December with a sensible month behind me!Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hi Shoe Gal, I definitely think the weightloss comes from not spending money on carp:D Am still fat though:rolleyes: If I can lose another 30lbsI will be at my correct weight. I would still like to get to my Christmas target of 26lbs, so I have another 18lbs to go in 2 months- eek! I will regain my flat stomach!
As regards a detailed plan for Nov, in December there is usually a thread called pay off £20k in a year or something like that, which I am going to join if they do it again, it sounds like a huge target (and it is:rolleyes:) but you count every single debt repayment and everything you save and even though I think it would be difficult to get to £20k, even halfway would be brilliant.
I did it for a few months before I fell off the wagon and it is very motivating because you can update it daily. That way, even if you chop and change your plans and ways to make/save money you always have a target to aim for. I come up with a different plan every month:rolleyes: but the main thing is to pay the damn things off. If I could get to £20k in a year I would be able to fill my ISA, clear my cc and put a nice amount in my house savings.
I have no idea how I will get it done but I think that sometimes if you really set your mind to something and decide you will do it, things just seem to come along when you need them.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Hi sarah, thanks for your support, as always
Not sure what my plans will be for 2010, but paying off £20k wouldn't be feasible for me. It's about 4 times what I am paying off my debts at the moment
Have been doing some reviewing in my head the last few days - birthday time of year! Have been on MSE for nearly a year now and I am actually proud of the fact that, for the first time in about 20 years, I haven't increased my debt this year - and am actually starting to pay it off :j
As I've said before, I still want to have some fun and want to continue living on my own rather than sharing (selfish, I know) so I don't have much 'wriggle room' when it comes to overpayments. Although, maybe I don't need quite so many shoes
Sorry - bit ramblingShould been a diary post really, time for a copy and paste!

I don't think it would be feasible for me either, not unless some money lands in my lap:D But I am going to give it a go as I need to keep motivated. If you are paying off £5k a year you could set yourself a target of seeing how quickly you can get to under £20k (and rewarding yourself with the best pair of shoes ever:D).Have been doing some reviewing in my head the last few days - birthday time of year! Don't be ridiculous. All those shoes were needed at the time and that makes them necessities:D
