Thanks for the advice guys - haven't bought the dress (yet
) Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

It's lovely though

That dress is not worth what it costs. Business isn't great these days in expensive shops like French Connection so the dress will most likely be reduced to half price in a while You could buy it then or on ebay in a few months.Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000 -
Am having great fun checking all my treasure on ebay, it's amazing what tat some people will buy:D. By the time I have finished this room will look as if it has been ransacked:D.
I am going to spend this evening making a big box of all the stuff I can ebay and then spend a few days looking through the threads on here, buy a camera and learn how to use it, open an ebay account and a paypal account, make a couple of very small purchases and then off I go:j
I will make another box of things which are only really suitable for a car boot sale and then look into doing that, I will have to find someone else who is interested though as I don't fancy doing it by myself.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
Go sarah :T
I keep on toying with the idea of ebaying stuff & have kept some of DDs perfect condition clothes just in case I ever get motivated. I also have a load of stuff that would be perfect for car booting (like the cds that I refuse to sell for 30p) & books etc.
I was only thinking this evening that as I have a garage perhaps I should have a garage sale but do feel a bit uneasy about local peeps riffling through my tat.
I've also considered gumtree & as DD has been manically clearing out her room I'm needing to make a decision quick. I suppose I could always use my phone to take pics of goods as it's quite a decent camera ... I certainly have enough stars to start selling
. I just never seem to have time to do the investigative work involved.
DD aksed to go to the sports club again tomorrow so I am going in to work which is lucky as it turns out the price for the club was wrong, I had to pay an extra £22 today

You should definitely try it Lula, make up's post yesterday makes it sound so easy:A and if I can do it anyone else can. Not entirely sure I can do it but I will have a go.:) I need to get myself some stars as I have never bought anything from there before.
I agree about garage sales, I would feel more comfortable with the anonymity of a car boot sale. Maybe I should drive down to Surrey with my tat and we can do one together:DPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Excellent idea - I have 2 very comfy pink fold up chairs with drinks holders in the arms & plenty of wine glasses too, so we could have a sort of picnic type event :rotfl:
I'm quite sure we can ebay ... I just really need to find the will
. am also rather scared that any success may result in minimizing my possessions to subsistence level _pale_ closely followed by regret.
Once work is back under control at a manageable 4 days a week I will attempt some photo uploading & snappy description writing. You may nag me at regular intervals.
Must go to bed now ( was looking forward to a lie in tomorrow
)
Night night

Hi all, not a good day today. My daughter spoilt my day, we were meant to go walk into bury and choose cd with my gift voucher but she panicked about wearing her pumps with her socks and jeans saying they would get wet which I tried to convince her they would not. After half an hour of debating with her I lost my rag and said I far more things to worry about than getting pumps wet. She then burst into tears saying about her two grandads dying of cancer which I am trying to deal with too. She then would not get ready or talk and just sulked.
I ended up having to leave her in the house for ten mins to get cash and so she is still up there sulking, not talking, no matter how I try.
I asked her why she was punishing me and she rolled her eyes so I said well when you are ready to apologise you can come down. Since then I have taken her a small lunch which she reluctantly said thanks to and she is still there even though I tried to persuade her to come down.
My mother was never there for me to talk to, she just didn't talk at all. But when I try to be there for my daughter she just clams up. and you know what it upsets me more than it upsets her and I can never control my feelings of hurt in front of her.
She is also taller than me now and I so it gets more difficult to discipline her but normally shes a good girl.
I know its hormones too. So best I leave her to her sulking.
I also want to see my dad and shes trying to get out of that too.
Shes 11 so cant leave her on her own in the house.
On another note I am meeting a nice man for coffee on monday from pof site. He sounds nice.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
Sorry to hear about your daughter Tracey, kids are hard work at times I guess. Good that you're meeting up with someone soon.
Sarah and Lula, ebay is the way forward. Car boot sales are fine for doing a big clear out but you wont get much for any one thing. I have to say I never bought anything on ebay, just used it to sell straight away and it was fine.
Sooo hungover today. Had one bottle of red and some sausage casserole in for my bro and his boyf coming but met a uni mate first and had three pints and a good laugh. Then my bro's boyf produced 1 bottle of M and S Cava and another bottle of red! So we were very merry by the time they left! Been nice to be off this week. Am cleaning now and have just ironed my bedding ready to put a clean set on (I know, I know) and am meant to be going out again tonight! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
