    Hey Money Fritter,

ooh crossed wires & posts. I then saw yours & deleted mine asking where your was. Confused yet ? I sure am. Anyway hello & welcome :D

As to your question, I believe I may be able to help : A long long time ago I had broken up with my DDs father. I knew he wasnt ever going to be right for me or DD. I started to get involved with a new man. The ex suggested we try again. I am obliged, both genetically & socially. I am a mother & inspite of being a modern 21st century woman I have been conditioned to believe that the right thing for my child is to be in a stable relationship with its father so I feel obliged to try again so that I can fulfil society's requirements & prevent myself & my child from being stigmatized.

It doesnt work because alongside the old traditional beliefs are new rules which mean that women no longer have to stay where they are not happy.

I sincerely hope that having tried again, your partner will now realise that her previous relationship is untenable & that you both have a long & hapy life together :)

If not, then pull up a seat & pass your glass :D
  • Hello Lula-Hula,

Thanks for the advice, I understand really, it is just frustrating. I broke up with my wife just over two years ago. I was too soft and did everything for her, and always went running to say sorry over every argument. But hey lifes a B##ch. :rotfl:

Anyway things were going well with my current girlfriend, but it does not help that I live far away and dont see her all the time and he lives around the corner, I just fine it hard.

Anyway, if it does not work out. Just to let people know, I am a modern man, who cooks (and is a good cook. lol), cleans, irons and is caring and handsome (well just, lol) and loves a laugh and likes doing stuff.

  • Ha ha ha ha,

Thanks Sarahb123, No pressure then. lol

I suppose I should not be on this thread, as technically I am not single, although I feel it sometimes, as we live 150 miles away.

I just find it hard, as my ex-wife (who I was with for a total of 7 years) and my previous girlfriend were very intense, which I did not like really, but I just went with the flow. My current girlfriend was intense for the first six months until all that happened with her ex, now she says we need to take it slow and just chill, which I find hard to do after everything that has gone before. lol

Well, as I see it, being in an intense relationship hasn't worked out very well for you so far and you didn't like it. So maybe your gf is right, even though it's hard it might be the right way to go, you should at least give it a go for a while and see how what happens, you might find that you actually prefer it and it turns out to be the best thing you ever did.

I also think her going back to her ex for a while might even have been a good thing, she has tried it, realised how unhappy it made her and will never again be wondering what might happen if she gets back together with him, she has tried it and didn't like it and obviously would prefer to be with you.

  • Hi Sarahb123,

Thank you, I never really thought about it in that way.

I will give it a go and see how things go. Am I allowed to stay though, for the heck of it. lol

Of course, you don't have to be single to be on this thread, just aware that there may be some ranting/celebrating involved from those of us who are:D. We need more men on this thread anyway, so you are more than welcome to stay:D.

  • Been with my DH since I was 16. I'm now 22. He's a nice guy, treats me and the kids right. I can't fault him. But he can be a complete idiot at times and we can have some of the biggest fights. But I'd hate a yes man boyfriend... I like someone I can have a go at and who will have a go back. Dunno just works for me. But I love him to bits.
