This might get barred but this seems like the perfect gift: (don't click on link if at work or get offended by bad language)
I've been spending evening baking listening to Christmas carols.
I've made a Ginger & Treacle traybake and am going to shortly finish off some Baileys & White Chocolate Truffles......my friend is having a Christmas get-together tomorrow afternoon and I offered to help with a few bits.
Just hope I manage to leave all the truffles alone.....:oI've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Haven't figured out multi-quote yet so hugs to all who need them :grouphug:
Have had mad week which is why have just been lurking. Commuted 3 days of the 5 and the others were so busy I didn't get lunch - was wondering why so grumpy til remembered hadn't eaten anything except 4 oatcakes and a handful of Quality Street in about 16 hours. Have now raided Tatco and have restocked fridge... however also far too many chores to do and a test on Sunday so will be alternating chores with swotting and MSE - non-stop glamour weekend eh. None of which helped by gas leak meaning no fire and living room now freezing (so typing on laptop while wrapped in duvet).

Rosa, I do admire your commitment to the thread by insisting on posting while being smothered by duvet
PS - Quality Street are known to have restorative properties... I must restore mine to their hiding place under the sofa

Surely that's a celebration
Anyway, I've been pondering on your previous posts & am curious about a couple of things:
1 - How do we recognise a 'decent' bloke, & what is your defintion of one ?
2 - Do women really subconsciously know that man is going to to mistreat her ?
I am aware that you were emotionally raw at the time of posting but am fascinated ....

I think if you are in a relationship and experiencing DV it can be really hard to break out of it. From my (professional) experience many women really struggle to leave the situation, despite the severity. Many cases of DV are both physical and emotional / mental. Many women end up feeling completely trapped and also believe the sh*t they are fed (no one else would want you, you're a waste of space, you're lucky to have me etc etc).
With regards to more balanced relationships - I think that is an interesting question. I think sometimes you can tell quite early on how things are going to pan out but sometimes you ignore the signs. I know in a couple of my relationships there has been warning signs from the start but I've completely ignored them and go full steam ahead into it all. I know I was quite depressed re-reading some emails I'd sent to a friend early on in a relationship which quite clearly spelled out what my ex was like but I struggled on with the whole thing for months and months. I just hope next time I will pay attention to the warning signs and say 'move out of my way, I'm f fabulous'I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread. I hope everybody is doing well. I just have one question, which has been bugging me for some time. Why do woman always go for the bad bloke and end up getting hurt.
I have been with my girlfriend for about 9 months, The first seven months were great and then she told me she was going back to her ex, who she has a five year old daughter to. She said that deep down she loved me and wanted to be with me, but that she had to give it another go even though she did not love him, for the sake of the kid. He treated her like !!!! and she goes back to him. Then after five weeks, she asks me to be her boyfriend again, as she knew things were not right. I said yes and we are back together, but how do I know it is not going to happen again
Answers on a postcard please.
