Awww sarah, sorry that your have now had to suffer at the hands of errant hairdresser.

It drives me mad when they don't listen! I took a picture with me and my hair looks nothing like it:mad:. I am not going there again, so that's a lesson learned. An expensive one. Have my work's Christmad do next week and wanted my hair to look good for that.

Would quite like a glass of cava to round off a horrible 4 days but I daren't risk it so will have to settle for a cup of tea instead:rolleyes:.

I wanted to have my Christmas shopping done by now plus a couple of birthdays coming up next week, am so far behind in everything.

I have checked quidco and £5 has been validated, with £70 rolled over again:mad:. I have read on another thread about people waiting for the RAC to pay out for over a year, have only been waiting for 6 months. Seems like forever since I have had a decent size payout from them.

Quite frankly for various reasons this has been the worst month I have had for a long time and I can't wait for it to be over:mad::mad::mad:.

    Morning all,

Hope sarah is restored to former glory today, Grrr to Quidco rollover .

I'm with you as regards November was rubbish & lets get on with December. My visit to dear Dad yesterday revealed that not only is his new car being delivered next week, but that he's having new windows fitted as well & the new bathrooms are now complete. Obviously no shortage of cashflow there then. I didnt like to mention the cambelt that he'd promised to pay for. He also asked how DD1 was getting on without her car, I said she wasnt much enjoying shifts & train travel & that she was saving hard to get a new car ...

Just typed a huge rant but had to delete for fear of self combusting with indignant rage :o

Going to wander off now & return later ... when calmer.

Oh dear Lula. It's carp. My Dad offered to lend me some money to renovate my house, instead of me getting a bank loan or selling the house as is, then two months later denied having made the offer - err, thanks... It was just at the start of the recession, so by the time he denied it, house prices were in decline and nothing was selling. Git!

Strangely, he managed to lend my brother money for a new car to replace a perfectly roadworthy existing car and earlier this year, he got a pool put in his 5 bedroom home. I'm here with plaster falling off my kitchen wall faster than I can hoover the damn stuff up and he doesn't understand why I can't afford to visit him more?!

Families, eh? I'm looking forward to the day when my Dad can come round to my lovely renovated house and I can say 'I did all this by myself'. Doesn't make me feel much better at the moment, but I hope it will in the end :D

    Gwenx

    Hello again,

it's still raining here & so dark that the lights have been on all day. I have managed to batch cook some shepherds pies for the week ahead & DD
insisted on having one now so have just stuffed my face with that. Was very yummy though :D

Gwen- thanks for understanding & sharing your tale of Wealthy Parent Syndrome. I dont meant to sound like a spoiled brat, but the £400 for the cambelt could have really gone a long way towards getting DD1 a runabout, I dont want the money for myself. I keep feeling so guilty that I cant afford to get her a car although I know that her debts & consequent inability to get a loan is her own fault, the car dying is not her fault at all.

I wouldnt accept money from my dad for debt repayments, but there is a r bit of inheritance from my mum due to me somewhere/sometime & as yet neither my sister nor I have seen the will . I'm just too embarassed to ask. That sounds really gold digger ish, but I dont mean it like that at all, would just like to know if there is anything that could go towards helping DD1 with a car without increasing my debt .

Going to brave the rain to go & look at sparkly stuff now, will be back later & probably with wine ... ;)

  • ... have been lurking but things have all been a bit mad recently. Just wanted to send hugs :grouphug:to Sarah and those having pants day. Sympathies to the parents promises thing - tho I solve this v effectively by being an only child with skint parents.

    Update from me:
    • Have started new masters course and it's fab, and it's so much easier to do my college stuff within the working week instead of in addition to a full time job.
    • Was v happy with work as well, now annoyed - long story
    • Have lovely new flatmate and house rearranged to have sitting room
    • Still single - met someone a couple of weeks ago but he may be moving abroad and am not really chasing it. Still dithering about the guy at work!
Have just added up debts again and am v embarrassed to find am basically back where I started. Suppose it has included another year of uni and quite a lot of furniture and winter coats ... but need to do something about it so will be around more often...

Hope all well with y'all, now going for a quick wander round the site :)
