Aww sorry to hear you've been unwell again sarah - wish you better soon.
Sorry to hear about your bug too TDQ & hope you found a kind hearted wench.
Eeeeek just heard that 50 pubs are closing every week, not good news, & our local Thresher is now gonethank goodness for co op Pink Elephant supplies or my week of being 'dry' might have to be permanent
It saddens me to confess that I have actually been a lot sharper at work without the elephant - apart from today, which in Lula Land has been the 25th, confused the hell out of half the workforce
.
DD has mufti day at school tomorrow in return for buying a lod of raffle tickets & taking a bottle infor the tombola. Having mentioned this at work, the Boss produced a bottle from a supply that was given to him & everyone dips into when needing a bottle to take along to a party but doesnt intend on drinking. Yay, to free school donation :j.
Must now go check out other news
night night

Hey Bowski
Thanks for that - I know you're keen on making up extra cash here and there so you might be interested.
It is quite easy to do, basically sign up and then you write reviews on things, basically stuff you use everyday. They have a massive bank of products on there - as an example today I reviewed the websites Etsy, Travelzoo and this very website, I also reviewed the online shop Simply Be, Dairy Milk Giant Buttons, a carppy film I watched once and my veg box company.
They have tons of food, toiletries, books, DVDs etc so I don't think I'll run out of things to review. The downside is that you have to write at least 150 words but is safer to write 200 and it is hard to write that much about a tube of toothpaste or a packet of custard creams.
You get 500 pts for a review and if other people review your reviews you get points for that too.
I should be in line for an Amazon voucher and you can also get a cheque if you write more.
At least no issues of being screened out by stupid survey companies!!!
If you fancy trying it out, I can refer you - so just pm me with your email. Although I think that just benefits me rather than you so you don't have to do that......:rolleyes:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Hey lovelies,
hope everyone has had an ok week & is looking forward to the week end as much as me. I have been 'dry' all week but today I decided to put my co op vouchers to good use & scored a bottle of Pink Elephant for £1.21. It' chilling in the fridge as I have to drop DDs Bessfriend home in an hour but then I'm going to dive right into it & revel in knowing I dont have to get out of bed in the morning until I want to :j.
Must go confess my spends now ...

Hello all, have spent all day in bed feeling sorry for myself
. Managed not to be sick but have only had grapes and fruit juice and not moved from my bed except to go to the bathroom. Being ill is pants
Thank god for the Radio 5 and the internet to stave off boredom. Am supposed to be getting my hair cut tomorrow and want to do some shopping, am going to mightily peeved if I have to waste my weekend being ill.

Poor you Sarah! Hope you feel better tomorrow and can get some shopping done.
Lula - must ask the exact nature of Pink Elephant? What the hell is it.
I'm in tonight enjoying a cider or 3 and pampering ready for tomorrow. It's my work Xmas do. Looking forward to it, wearing last years frock and work give us some money to it so should be a cheap night!!! Failed miserably on both NSD and Grocery Challenge this month but 1st time so will do better next month I hope. Paid today!!!! so this is the start of December for me. Have good weekends all X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Souk - was your grocery challenge to spend £60 in a month on groceries for yourself?? Did you have a hugely stocked freezer and store cupboard?
If not then that is highly ambitious and your £85 is pretty amazing if you ask me!?
I went out to do some direct action with a feminist group which only took about 45 mins so am liking the amount of time vs. feel good factor there!
Then went onto my friend's husbands b'day drinks but only stayed for one.
Have a HUGE list to get through tomorrow and am soooo tired.
ps - what is it with South London and massive fires....this one was about 3 mins away from my house and I could see the smoke when I went to work yesterday. I did manage to sleep through all the fire engines though....... i do like my beauty sleep :rotfl:I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

* slides in, elephant in hand, smile on face*
Sarah - sorry to hear that you're not yet recovered, I wish you back to your former glory as soon as possible, the sooner the better. Weight loss is not much consolation when feeling so ill, but hopefully it will provide a small amount of comfort when you are better.
Hey Souk, the Pink Elephant at who's altar I regularly worship is in fact a rather nice shiraz rose named 'Balance'. The label depicts a large pink elephant balancing on a very small stool hence the affectionate nickname. I discovered this little gem at my local co op a while back & am now committed to keeping an entire vineyard in South Africa in operation. During the apatheid years I placed a personal embargo on all South African produce but now feel a great social responsibility to make sure the workers remain employed
Oh how I love a friday night0 -
Me too! On the Strongbow tonight, not great for the waistline I know! Glad I know what Pink Elephant is now.
makeup - no stocked freezer or cupboard, loads of spices etc in and a few bags of rice and pasta. This doesn't include toiletries, cleaning stuff or booze (EEK) so I still think it's too much. I do eat really well, use my SC, cook loads from scratch and take lunch to work EVERY day. I also do a months meal plan when I've cooked the mains with the ingredients from my online shop which i get on payday. I know this is geeky in the extreme but it's just so I have the rest of my cash for the good stuff, like nights out and seeing mates. Otherwise it's just frittering away my fun money!
