.....Feeling a bit frazzled today tbh - Mr LW wanted to go to the pub last night, so as I'm trying to radically cut down on alcohol, I offered to drive. But I have to say I find socialising without "Dutch courage" a considerable challenge, even though I was sat quietly and letting Mr LW do all the talking. I just felt majorly uncomfortable, and like I didn't want to be there.:(

Sorry, needed to offload somewhere, and you guys got the short straw.:o

Don't worry about that, it's what we're here for! Are you up to taking him & then picking him up later another time? or maybe tuck yourself into a corner with a book? I have to admit to having done that myself on occasions!

I'm sorry so many people seem to have so much pain in their lives at the moment.
    :grouphug: Grouphug!

I don't think i will be doing much os-ing today, although i could probably do with putting on another load of washing :rolleyes2 it always seems to me that by the time i've emptied my washing basket it's full again.

Guides tonight, not really looking forward to it as i feel too tired to entertain 8 girls for a couple of hours.

Thankyou for the good wishes from everyone. I didn't want to ring my friend as it feels a little like intruding, so I have written to her-she should get it tomorrow morning and 2 other friends and I are going to send her some flowers. I'm going to tell DD after school-I think she'll take it ok as she is very matter of fact but I've told her teacher in case shes upset next week.
I've had leftover rissoles from monday which did taste ok but are now repeating on me. We are having leftover bolognese sause and spaghetti with netto very cheap but ok garlic bread for tea. Its the first school disco tonight which DD is looking forward to. At least its a chance to get to know some of the other mums if we can hear ourselves speak!!
Hugs to all that need them.

Floss2, I'd love to be able to take him and pick him up again after - but he won't have that, says I have to go with him. I have been known to take the Telegraph crossword to do, but yesterday I'd already done it when he decided we were going out. Bless him, he means well, as he's aware that my social phobia is getting out of hand. It's not having the prop of alcohol that I'm going to find a BIG challenge.

    Fluffybunnies welcome to the daily.

Curly tbh, sometimes a written message can be twice as comforting as a phone call in these situations. At least, that's my belief.

Afternoon gang, Hope this finds everyone warm-can't believe how cold it is.

    Tea last night was nice.
Tonights tea will be stir fried veg and quorn chunks with rice. Have already sliced the veg and have them (and the chunks)in a tupperware box with a marrinade.
Will do double rice and then have egg fried rice and veg spring rolls tomorrow.
    Have been very productive today.
Took one of my "horse strenth" painkillers and made some humous and thanks to mummysaver mushroom pate:j:j so will be able to use with the bag of pitta breads I found in the freezer last night. I have 1/2 a thick sliced loaf in the freezer that I can't justify keeping so will toast that and have for lunch tomorrow with the dips. I have also made a huge pot of stock some of which will be frozen to use as a easy tea.
I have been forced to become very creative since my little mishap and am so relieved that I had a full freezer to fall back on(and OS'ers who's ideas I steal on a regular basis:o:rotfl:)
I had porridge today-nothing remarkable eh? WRONG- last time I had porridge I was about 14(so seven years ago:rotfl::confused::eek:-ok eight then) Its all down to thriftlady her breakfasts always sound lovely. Anyway it was yummy:confused:(was sure I didn't like it)
Am going to sit down and write a very detailed meal/freezer plan later.
Mark is off today(planned in advance) all to do with the relitive that was killed last year. I am not much use with moving things so he is taking my place.
I haven't been getting back on here in the evening as our desktop 'puter is poorly so himself is using my laptop.
Also I have some exciting news(well exciting for me anyway) As of Tuesday last week...................................................we...............got.............a.....washing machine:j:j:j:j:j After many many years(we can't remember exactly when the last one broke but its at the very least 3 1/2 years) It is .................bliss:A:A
Got a real bargain as well. £100 off list price from tesco direct, free delivery, 426 clubcard points and £6.14 from quidco. Its sad just how much joy I am getting from this. Its lovely got a 1600 spin speed. Utter bliss.
I also got a dryer(have only been without a dryer for 2 years:eek:) So no more geting up at 5.45 to get to the launderette before 7 and no more weird encouunters(don't ask):j

Bargainbird you are all still in my thoughts and prayers.

Diva I am sorry for your loss. Also praying and thinking of Tris.

Curlytop you and your friend are in my htoughts and prayers.

Jward many congratulations to your DH:beer::j:j

    afternoon all!

a late post for me, been up since the crack of dawn helping DH on his milk round and have been back to bed for a kip this afternoon so not caught up with you all yet.
Am going to make some quorn cottage pies for the freezer later and am having quorn bolognaise for tea - DH is having cheeseburgers.
Done 1 load of washing and got that in, just need to run the vac around in a bit. I'm working for the next 3 days long 11 hour shifts so wont getmuch done this weekend.

Have been thinking of my friend Janet today as she's having her MRI scan to see if her cancer has spread, those who pray please say one for her x

Anniestar - great to have you posting regularly again:hello:

am off to have a quick read of the thread now x

Am new to the OS stuff *waves* but I do like making cakes and bread and other things when I have time around uni (also v. useful for the intolerances) Made my first gluten free bread today, come out ok but its a little stodgy, and the cake looks fine, I tasted a bit that had fallen out onto the tray and it was yummy, so no faults there (and added about two bags of nuts, but that's another matter)
