Hi im a regular on MSE so please dont take this as spam.
I just need to know how fast you would rate out site. We recently changed servers, and on our computers the site has started running much slower than other sites. 123reg say its running fine on there computers and it most likely our internet (Orange Broadband).
If you can can you rate the speed that it comes up on your computer from 1 (Very Slow pages take 10-15 sec to load) to 5 (Very Fast 1-3 Sec to load)

Thanks for the help
If this isnt ok with the site mods please feel free to just take this post off.

same here about 2-3 secs, which is good.
Perhaps a test at peak times may produce a different figure though?0 -
i got 19 seconds for google chrome
20 for FF
and i gave un on Ie after about 30
and thats on a steady 10mbps connection.
off peak too
something iffy there
that is jsut to load the page initially though after that the links seem to load within 4-5 seconds, not speedy but not the end of the world
EDIT: IVE TRIED A FEW MORE TIMES AND IT EITHER TAKES AGES AS ABOVE OR ITS INSTANT, NO INBETWEEN?Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
The first time I clicked it, it was taking so long to load I gave up. Then I clicked it again and it came up instantly. Odd.0

Firefox : 24.8 seconds (timed)
IE : 15-30ish (guessed)
Servers are slow, but your images need some optimisation, 300 kb is far too big for a single page download for this sort of site. 100kb just for the header is way way too much.0 -
Thnks for that everyone looks like a mixed resultsFirefox : 24.8 seconds (timed)

123reg did updates a few months back and that's when all the problems started. Before that the website was 2-3 sec per page.0 -
Once the site's been cached it was fine, but it took quite a while to open for me in the first instance.Dave. :wave:0
