    Hello and welcome.;)

You will get there, not to worry.

I would write whatever numbers are shown on your agreement, just to cover this.

I would not worry about the exact date if you do not have this, the year will be okay to write.

And do not worry about writing out the amounts, even though its always handy to keep them by, so you can compare, if given an offer or so.;)

However, you may find a Subject access Request (SAR) handy to have, they have 40 days to comply and send everything they still hold on you.
It is up to you if you want to request for this, it may be useful.

There is a cost of £10 cheque or postal order for this request, and best as well to post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

Thread link here to the SAR template.

  • Dear Sir or Madam,

    Credit Agreement Reference Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I purchased the above policy from you in xxxxxxxxxxx but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reason:

This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as your salesperson stated that taking out the policy was essential for me to get the associated credit even though I informed them that I already had alternative insurance cover

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

so will it be ok to send this as the first letter or do i need to add anything else
i have the addresses on the top aswell btw :)
  • o and if i do need a SAR can i request it after i have started the process of claiming back

Great letter and remember to post it by recorded delivery as well, for your proof of posting.:T;)
Just as long as you feel you have covered all your reasons then its ready to go, did you also check on the checklist as well, just to make sure any of those reasons that may also occur to you (OH)?
If there is anything else, just add below your other reasons you have already wrote down.
