right im back :j
ive had a reply from RBS about the policy with Natwest so i presum they have took it over ??
saying thats for letting us know your concerns...........etc....sorry you unhappy.......
you may still recieve correspondance from your product provider but this will not effect the investigation in anyway.
enclosed leaflet ... etc.....when we have all th full information available and the investigation is complete we will contact you with further reponce.
so does this mean i just wait for another letter???
thanks0 -

Hi there
I understand there are large volumes of these complaints, but just as long as the 8 weeks have passed you can take your complaint to the FOS.
So basically even though they have responded, and have informed you of the 4 weeks, they should realistically get back to you by then, of course do take this to the FOS if you do not hear from them by then.
I would give them a week before the timescale they have said (4 weeks), and send them a reminder letter about your first letter, tell them your still waiting for a decision to be made in regards of your letter sent to them dated XX/XX/XXXX enclose a copy of the original letter you sent them if you want to.
Then make them aware they have 7 days to reach a decision or you will move on to the FOS.;)
(say send the letter 3 weeks from now, this then gives them the 7 days to the 4 weeks). The one and only "Dizzy Di"

update....
my OH has recieved another letter ... but they are now saying that they would like to call him on thursday to talk about his recolections of what happend when he took out the policy.
they have also enclosed the letters we have sent them and also all relevant documents regarding the policy.
what i would like to know is, is there anyway my OH can ask to be contacted by post only as 1.he is in work 9-5 mon-fri so cannot really take time off to answer phone calls etc.., and 2. he would rather deal with this by writen conformation , so we know exactly whats going on.....
if there is this postiblity of this can anyone help him how we would go about telling them this.0 -

Hi there
In my opinion - yes ask them to correspond by writing only, as you have already given your reasons of why you want your refund.
This way you have something to refer to, for example, if you decided to take it to the FOS.
The thing is here not saying they are all like it but they may try talking your hubby into something he does not want to do, if he did decide to go to the appointment and they suggest something, tell them you need to think about it, then get back to them, but otherwise request everything in writing, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

ok so we shall send them a letter stating
that we (he lol) would like all correspondance by writing only (do i have to give them a reason why???)
and also should he add that he would like the final outcome of the investigation recieved by the ......(date) as it will have been 8 weeks since he first brought the complaint to there attention otherwise he shall be taking it futher..
thankyou again

It can be very awkward to get from work at this time of year, and not everyone are able to make these appointments.
I think its best to have everything in writing, so yes write back and tell them your (hubby) is unable to take time from work to attend an appointment but are requesting that this is dealt with in writing.
As you said above write that, as they do have 8 weeks as from the original letter that was sent, if they do not solve this or even get back by then, you can move this on to the FOS.;) (Financial ombudsman service).
Hope this helps, please keep us posted, cheers.:beer:XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"
