I had to haggle with him and promise that i will be back to buy my pram but got fantastic deal, Mondensa range cotbed, matres, wardrobe, dresser, shelf and cream bouncer also mamas and papas, all for £500. Me and OH had to put it all together came flat packed, but took one day wasnt to bad. I noticed a small scratch on the inside of one of the shelf draws and on the back of the wardrobe i think this is why he does them so cheep. But nothing you could notice, well worth it would of cost me over £1000 if had orderd from Mams and Papas website.

We bought a birth to potty pack of bambino Mio off Ebay and started using it when our DS was about 8 weeks old. I think if we had not spent the initial outlay on it then we probably would not have kept up with it so I would recommend that to spur you on to continuing!!! Glad we did though. Also there is the option to trial a variety of nappies from places like the real nappy network for £10 ish over 2 weeks. This needs to be reserved well in advance of wanting to try them as there is normally a waiting list and you can try the size that you need so Small, Medium, large. Wish we had of since we have now use a mix of BM, ME and Tots bots at night!

The other thing to note is that the supposedly, enviro friendly biodegradable disposable brands (Boy Girl, OKO) are only biodegradeable if they go into your compost bin, rather than your refuse bin....... makes sense as I suppose there is not much air and worms in refuse dumps!

Thanks for everybody's advice and support. :D

Not done much in the way of real money-saving this week. :o I've had a paycut this month because of reduced working hours so money is going to be tight. Of course my road tax just has to be due this month as well.

I did receive £22.50 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers today though.

This time: I'm going to spend £5 worth on a Days Out deal to go towards a day trip to Cadbury World. :p The other is going towards RAC membership at the end of the year.

Pre-MSE: I would have just spent the lot instore!! :o
Saving thanks to MSE advice: £67.50 :T

    Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to all of you who are pregnant, I'm hoping to be for the second time soon!
I have a money saving tip for those of you who are using washable nappies - I use washable baby wipes. These consist of old towels that I have cut up (and roughly sewn around the edges to stop fraying). I keep a pot of water near the changing table (out of reach of little hands) and dip the wipes in that. They get washed along with the nappies.
I find that I prefer these to baby wipes now - none of that slime that they seem to have on them, and also no chemicals being wiped on your baby's cute little bottom!
