First Millennium Credit Card

Having read this thread, it never ceases to amaze me how gullible and downright stupid some people are!
To think for one millisecond that you could have £5K credit on a card WITHOUT a credit check is astonishing.
To actually hand over all of your details and give some company you found on Facebook (of all places), your debit card numbers, letting them take funds is idiotic by even the dumbest persons standards.
The people that applied for this are obviously not capable of even dealing with the internet, let alone their own finances.0 -
maybe they are just at the point when there is no room to breathe and a perceived view that facebook checks their advertising feeds:jDEBT FREE 27th MAY 2010:j
Paid off - o/d £2750, loan £23000 (11 mts early), CC @ £14000

I also saw this ad on facebook and googled to find details of the company and found this thread.
Just to make you aware anyone can open an account and put ads on facebook. The site that is sponsoring the ad is: card-approvals.co.uk This domain was registered on 1st September 2009 to a UK individual but with an Australian address. Basically what I think is happening is First Millennium Platinum are not advertising, however they must be sponsoring some form of affiliate scheme. This would have been signed up to by the owner of card-approvals.co.uk. So you see the ad on facebook, click through to card-approvals who then direct you to the official site earning an affiliate click thru commission for each successful sign up.
I am not sure of facebook ads terms and conditions - I assume there is nothing to stop you advertising a third parties product; or the affiliate marketing policy for First Millennium however if you really feel strongly about it the details on click through from card-approvals.co.uk are as follows: cid=400631&dp=371818957&campid=219 First Millenium should be able to tie down which account produced the link and if it breaches any conditions the account can be suspended and any revenue earned not paid.
Just to reiterate it is not First Millennium placing the ad (well the ad I saw anyway).0 -
This is an absolute rip off... you will receive a shoddy card and link to a website that no longer exists (if it ever did?) oh and you will pay 99.95 for the privelege.. please act to publicise this... An absolute disgrace.. act now to ban this scam!!! First Millenium are a SCAM!! The card does not exist... how shameful and how can this be allowed??0

These seem to be very clevely constructed pre-pay cards and/or catalogue credit accounts.
It doesn't seem from the documentation that these have anything to do with credit repair - they even state that it's not in their Ts & Cs.
I have seen a promo video for these from America, I have noticed that there is an Irish address on one website and some of the credit is provided by a bank in Europe - I know it's a modern global world, but this all really sounds quite ropey.
Interesting to note that there haven't been many people on here promoting it as a good thing...
You can see more details as well as Ts & Cs for both "cards" by doing a google search for -

On your fb page, click the X next to this ad, and then you have a choice of reasons why you did this , i clicked on the misleading one , this gives fb feeback and hopefully they will remove the ad.0

I also reported this to Facebook just now, I hate ads like these.
Interestingly, their address (2 Minton Place, Victoria Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 6QB) seems to be a small complex and the main business with 2 Minton Place is a Chartered Accountants. Seems that the company is giving out their accountants' address as their primary business address instead of an office address (primary place of business) - that's also quite a bit dodgy, reeks of an individual who's just using their accountant to hide behind when all the correspondence comes in.!0 -
These tricksters are STILL advertising on Facebook.
BUYER BEWARE!!!:eek:0
