Cuboards full of booze - started collecting ages ago for birthday party and xmas and then changed all Ts vouchers to double for wine on Wednesday .
No food in house though -(except for 7p jelly and custard )that was my next thing to stock up on. ( and a set of lovley pans mine are about 15 years old)
Sent OH to get some bags of ice this morning as i forgot yesterday plan was to dump all the old frozen vege in freezer and put ice in 2 clear shelves.
Then i remembered no more coupons - no more free food - we will have to start living olf stuff in the freezer and planning menues etc.no more covent garden soup. What a bummer - i think pepole will notice ive gone meaner when i invite them over for a meal coz i did used to buy nice things to share. Now it will be soup from old vege from the freezer.
just hope it gets sorted before xmas - ive not started any stash for that:eek:0 -
just found this online;)
Tesco Accused of Being Pedigree Chumps as Dog Food Vouchers Used for Booze
Hundreds of shoppers have used dog food vouchers, meant to be redeemed against Pedigree dog food, to cash in on booze, clothes and even TVs in a blunder that is set to cost the supermarket thousands.
Pedigree had offered the vouchers online and the mess up is sure to cause both firms embarrassment.
The coupons, redeemable value of just shy of £7.00, were so lapse, customers found they could redeem them over and over again on any items of their choice.
News of the blunder spread and there was a run on the dodgy dog vouchers at stores in West Bromwich, Willenhall and Dudley, West Midlands.
Claire Hampson, 40, told The Sun newspaper: “I heard it from my neighbour and printed off a few vouchers. The stores were rammed with people buying booze, bed linen, TVs, you name it.
“People were laughing and joking. We thought it was a genuine offer.”
Tesco has launched an inquiry in to the blunder
this could also explain the situation folks;);)
This along with the idiots like the one on ebay selling loads of the mag coupons (Archant) - the more obscure sport type and also the one who offered 'unlimited' coupons for T's for £50 - all you needed was a printer, ink and loads of paper!!:mad::mad: He even said take a trip to T's to check it out for yourself - you could save at least £30 a trip!!
Its prats like this that have added to the problem - and T's for not implementing more rigorous training to their staff to spot the abusers.0 -
I am really dissapointed that Tesco will no longer take manufacturers coupons. I can understand them having a problem with internet coupons, which are more easily open to abuse, but I hoped they would have still accepted a percentage of the branded ones. I didn't have many each week (approx £6/7) but when these were added to the conditional spend vouchers such as Sainsburys etc it made a big difference.
I will now do my main shop and top-ups elsewhere and just do my emergency shop at Tesco as it's nearer.
Just on another note I called in at Morrisons last night and the cherry tomatoes I left behind at Tesco (300g for 99p) were 400g for £1.08 at Morrisons. Not sure of the maths, but every little helps0 -
Not suprised at all the policy has been changed, u could just feel it in ur water, has been on the edge for along time and too many factors have tipped it over!
A while back I had alot of nappy coupons etc from baby bundle, I thought to myself the way things are going the policy is doomed, so i kept a few n thankfully shut rest ages back....
I have just bought 4 Suns for the conditional spend I shall hope t's are taking them, I have lots f/f left and some t's spends which they sent me.
I emailed f/foods as not rcvd coupons n they sent me 5 lots xxSIMPLES!0 -
I went to the pub to sell all my coupons to the drunks, made a few quid by telling them they could be spent in any tesco (in their drunken stupor don't think they heard me say as long as you buy the product;)):rotfl::rotfl:
You sound like one of those ebay seller:DWho is "some of you"As far as I know, most people on this thread stuck by the rules of Tesco's policy. yep
I am quite lucky in the fact that I don't have a family that rely on the coupons, (told my kids y'day, that no more take away, we got to cook more home cook meal from now on - no more cornfed chick from Tesco, will have to get from Asda with me hard earn cash!, btw, all my saving from T are for holiday - overseas mind you not butlin!) so it isn't such a blow to me as it is to some people on here. To some it is going to cause severe hardship, especially with christmas coming up. Hardship BW never
, we are going away for our xmas, nice sunny place & let the other side of the world feed us free.

Waitrose too far for me, but come school holiday - I know where to use my coupons at one of those major supermarkets without buying the products. Like I said before it is who you know, not what you know.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -

Just been to Tesco's this morning:eek: Only went to upset the old trout who I knew would have glee telling me I couldn't use my coupons. I had a coupon for a free Independant newspaper (load of rubbish but it was free;)), so got the paper and used my coupon and paid nothing
That is as much business as Tesco will now get from me.
btw for those going to Asda it is worth checking your stores coupon policy as quite a few take at least 10% of your shop in coupons, so don't throw them away before you do.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
