Yes I am sick to the teeth. Normally I do a big shop at Tescos on Saturday, it will be a quick trip to Lidl. No wine for the forseeable future. This makes a huge impact on my family budget, we are barely scraping by now. I feel physically sick. I would like to feel optimistic, maybe this is temporary etc, but my feeling is that this is the end of couponing. I was just getting the hang of it.

remember the dishwasher tabs that we all got for free from asda and sainsburys when they were on special, if we all keep a lookout it will happen again with other products and we can still save on those items, think positive, think positive, this is a happy forum, theres lots of freebies that will ease the strain on the purse, right I'm off to do some freebies. :-)

I'm with Gill on this. There's still lots of great deals to be found. Yesterday, after being disappointed over Beedle book, I ordered a 99p Ladybird book from Tesco using same code for 200 points and just got an email saying the book had been despatched. Cheered me up a little!

Morning, now we have slept and got over the initial shock of the recent change, its time to think positive and decide what to do, whether it be writing to Tesco or obtaining bargains from elsewhere. For the time being does anyone know which of the coupons on the first page are actually accepted by Waitrose? For some of us it may be of use to put a list of these in place. I intend reverting back to a mid week shop online probably at Tesco but if found to be cheaper at Asda or Waitrose (havent had time to study the facts yet) and then doing a couple of small shops at Waitrose at the weekend when possible.

Like Gill said there are bargains to be had and since the Boots thread was closed down I think it may be worth taking a look in that direction too as Boots do accept coupons when buying the product eg the Cow & Gate ones if these are of interest to you - so keep your eyes peeled for toiletry coupons.

I think Nestle will notice a difference now in their sales of Pic a pak, does anyone know if Waitys sell Nestle cereals.

My smallish weekend 'shop' last night only came to a little over £40 (cupboards still pretty full from the good times) - but it wasn't done in Tesco! Any coupons I would have used were all legit manufacturers ones so Tesco WOULD have got their money back. I won't be doing any shopping in Tesco - unless they have any 'too good to miss deals' during the suggested 4 week trial and, if most couponers stick to their guns and shop elsewhere, each individual store will almost certainly notice a small drop in sales. It might just be significant enough to make Tesco re-think - especially if Sainsbury do what they have mentioned in the press this week re issuing millions of coupons.

    just found this online;)
Tesco Accused of Being Pedigree Chumps as Dog Food Vouchers Used for Booze

Hundreds of shoppers have used dog food vouchers, meant to be redeemed against Pedigree dog food, to cash in on booze, clothes and even TVs in a blunder that is set to cost the supermarket thousands.
Pedigree had offered the vouchers online and the mess up is sure to cause both firms embarrassment.
The coupons, redeemable value of just shy of £7.00, were so lapse, customers found they could redeem them over and over again on any items of their choice.
News of the blunder spread and there was a run on the dodgy dog vouchers at stores in West Bromwich, Willenhall and Dudley, West Midlands.
Claire Hampson, 40, told The Sun newspaper: “I heard it from my neighbour and printed off a few vouchers. The stores were rammed with people buying booze, bed linen, TVs, you name it.
“People were laughing and joking. We thought it was a genuine offer.”
Tesco has launched an inquiry in to the blunder

this could also explain the situation folks;);)
