    well I can't be sure, i'm sorry i scribbled as fast as i could but she was reeling them off very quickly!!!! i'm not sure what is going to happen after Oct 5th, but i'm thinking if a permanent change is to be implemented, then it will be nationwaide and not specific to those stores who took part in the trial. they were just the bigger ones apparently, hence why they have been chosen for the trial. i'm so sorry i couldn't get the names of all the stores:mad:
    you have done a wonderful job finding out info for us and i am sure that when you can find out more you will let us know and any others of us who find out about stores that are affected will post on here to keep us all up to date. I shall be asking everyone i know if their store is affected and if it is I shall pass on the info:D

    As I suspected it looks national :(

    As of 15:00 hrs this afternoon our much beloved coupon policy has ceased :(

    The following is in place;

    COUPON POLICY

    We'll happily accept your coupons if you've bough the product. This includes Tesco and supplier coupons. Unfortunately if you haven't bought the product we can't accept the coupon. Thank You.

  • Guys.... It's over...

    I have seen the official e-mail today that my manager has shown me - its a national change which takes effect from 15:00 today - from the look of the e-mail which was sent to the store managers account it has been sent to all stores. It blames the reccent publicisation on both TV and radio for making the policy 'no longer sustainable'. A full and updated policy will follow with corporate signage to inform customers however paper signage must be displayed at every checkout until this is signed off and delivered to stores.

    In short if you want to use the coupon in ANY tesco store you have to buy the product

    I know it won't be popular, but banning all internet coupons without the item, may be the only way to go.

    Mind you, how long before 'real' coupons are copied? :confused:

    I do think policy is doomed, now that the cats out of the bag. Even a giant like Tesco cannot cover this amount of coupons with the amount they are selling.
    that's why my T only accept 5 coupons and others a certain percentage off your shop as at least some saving can be made and it keeps people shopping at T rather than elsewhere and also stops a queue building up and other customers complaining as it doesn't take long to scan 5 coupons
