Thanks phew! I just have to hope that Weston wasn't in the list
well I can't be sure, i'm sorry i scribbled as fast as i could but she was reeling them off very quickly!!!! i'm not sure what is going to happen after Oct 5th, but i'm thinking if a permanent change is to be implemented, then it will be nationwaide and not specific to those stores who took part in the trial. they were just the bigger ones apparently, hence why they have been chosen for the trial. i'm so sorry i couldn't get the names of all the stores:mad:

I know it won't be popular, but banning all internet coupons without the item, may be the only way to go.

Mind you, how long before 'real' coupons are copied?

I do think policy is doomed, now that the cats out of the bag. Even a giant like Tesco cannot cover this amount of coupons with the amount they are selling.
  • anyone who wants to see if their store is affected...call 0800 50 55 55, or ring head office (01992 63 22 22) and ask to be put through to some who knows about coupons (half the idiots don't, i got put through to one who insisted the policy had always been that you need to buy the product to use it...pah!!!!)

It seems most of the stores that are in this trial are fairly northern - just hope my store isnt 1 of them. But if it is then so be it Ill still shop at T's as I like it and because the next nearest supermarket is 20mile away. We should be grateful weve 'got away' with it for this long should it stop altogether
Opinions are like ar*eholes - everybody has one!!!! :D

That's ok. I have never abused the policy and have even stopped a cashier when I've spotted a duplicate coupon in there for a voucher that has already been scanned and whip it out (so to speak).

People don't realise the impact of their actions when they copy coupons or scan them in that it ruins the whole thing for everyone.

The cashier in my locals mr t's scrutinised my little yeo one last time I went and said he'd managed to catch a couponer who was using photocopies of a coupon that was on the inside of a yoghurt carton cardboard, and managed to stop him. There had been suspicions that all his coupons were photocopied but they couldn't prove it. But on this case as they had the original cardboard cover they could prove it.

I thanked him for prolonging the life of the policy in our store, and he took down a list of websites from me as he was going back to uni at exeter.

You've done a brilliant job getting as much detail as you did, thanks :T:T

It maybe that the stores that are on the list for the trial are the stores which were most hit by the magazine coupons etc. The Sheffield stores which were mentioned are quite close to the clowne store which was taken the mickey out of, maybe the same people went to the sheffield one as the clowne.
Anyway, could spend all day discussing what may/may not happen and I don't think we will know our local stores policy until Monday, so I am off to my local Tesco's to spend all my coupons just in case ;)
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
