Also PCN, am quite curious re T's accepting coupons for sooo long as I came across the policy accidently, about a year ago... In your past experience (I hope you don't mind sharing with us) have T's taken this stance re permanent ban if not buying the correct product?

    good evening all
Ive stated this before i know, but many moons ago:o:o when i was a young whipper snapper, my mum used coupons, dad had an accident and times were hard, the fact that you could use coupons was not hidden back then, but seemed to be reserved for the poorer in society, if you used coupons you were looked on as poor, scrounging etc...that didn't matter to my mum back then, she wanted to feed her kids and save where she could.

well with times even harder now, because of the economic state of this country, that isn't the case anymore, it doesn't seem to matter about looking cheap as everyone wants and needs to save money.

it used to be looked on as an embarrassment if you tried to save money, now you are applauded if you save money.

I'm 37 (38 on Thursday:o) and Ive always known tesco would accept coupons (not always internet though as this wasn't around when i was young)

so why has it all changed, well times have changed, every tom, !!!!!! and harry will give over coupons now regardless of their money circumstances, sometimes down to pure greed so its not exclusively for the poorer anymore;) tesco have obviously realized this and taken action.

I'm afraid its true, we are a victim of our own success;)

Any ideas if the current bun are doing these again this week  Didn't bother last Sat as was not expecting to go to Waity's but got me trip & moc's planned for Saturday and no £5 vouchers vouchers :o Extra insurance should any of me moc's be refused.....First time in Waity's so bit hesitant..... :o Like starting again really :D

Mum was talking to lovely SA in her Waity's today, she said that this Sat? you have to buy the Sun in Waitrose and then they will hand you a £5 off coupon  She was talking about the Tesco change in policy and telling mum that they are now the only supermarket to take coupons without buying the product.

What's going on guys? every other post starts with "went to T's today" we're supposed to be boycotting for 4 weeks not 4 days, is the pull really that strong?

    Hi PC,

Not me I haven't been in and won't be. It's very hard to get out of the habit of doing ALL OF MY SHOPPING in there and I mean ALL of it.

I have not stepped foot in Boot's, Netto's (bar yesterday ), Morrison's, Asda, Co-Op (visited every single day after on way home from school run), and other shops since discovering coupons.

I have forgotton what these shops look like :eek:

Totally agree with you. I have been asking everyone I know including workmates to boycott. If all do this it will surely hit them in the pockets when sales go down.

I agree PC but I'm not as disappointed as you, I didn't expect people to last 4 days, great idea but in practice people will do what 's cheaper, easier and suits them.

people are going to asda because they are cheaper, tesco was only better to use when they accepted the coupons:mad:
don't think its anger just common sense;)

just a general ?????..If all supermarkets had a 10% moc policy which supermarket would you use
.... our Asda moc store policy was ruined by some coming in and putting anything in the self serve slots including blank peices of paper that they are now taped up ... for the past yr it has only been 10% of total bill .with .tesco it depended on store / sa ..wether they even took the moc
