  • Hi all - still here :p

Only two runs this week after a decent week last week. I'd like to say it was a taper for Saturday evening, but in reality it was feeling rubbish in the middle of the week. Tired, lethargic, headache for a couple of days. So for once I was vaguely sensible and rested.

    Tuesday 27/10/09 - 5m in 47:28 (9:28/mile)
    Thursday 29/10/09 - 6.2m (10K) in 59:06 (9:32/mile)

Not too bad given the lack of energy.

Total so far this week = 11.2 miles.

Plan is to run Saturday evening, then get back to 4 runs next week starting again on Monday.

    Some good running from others.

In other news I have shiny new trainers - bad news is the sorbothanes haven't arrived so I can't use them yet! Bought them from the same place too *sigh*! Will mean I can keep my current part-used pair at work for lunchtime runs, and have another pair for evenings/weekends without having to carry them around all the time.

Best check them out in the cold weather..

Well I've got a great tale from this Wednesday's training session.
Off we set from the cricket club, down new line, Greengates and up into Calverley. I didn't know the route but I was in the middle of spread out group so felt quite happy following the hi viz vests of the leaders

Part way through Calverley I noticed the hi viz vests were on the other side of the road so I crossed at the crossing to be met with a cheery "How you doing, ok?" by the 2 runners.

Followed them all the way down to the roundabout by the Olive Tree restaurant at which point they took a left to head up into Horsforth.

It was at this point I realised I'd been following the wrong bl00dy runners!

So, off I set, back the way I came, hoping to bump into some of our lot. Despite seeing many other runners, the Eccleshill gang were long gone up some side road so I decided it was best to just double back the way I'd come and run straight back to the cricket club rather than risk going the wrong way on my own up some dark street.

How daft did I feel back at the club?

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Nice one, Linda!:rotfl:

You probably followed some of the Horsforth Harriers going back to base at the cricket club.

I've got visions of you shouting 'wait for me, wait for me' while the Horsforth runners get quicker and quicker as they think they're being chased by a deranged mad woman.:p

Morning all, hope everyone's OK and don't get lost today (he he Linda!)

Not sure what exercise I'll be doing today so will have to report back later.

I watched the Snowdon Marathon on S4C last night, couldn't understand a word! The day was wet, windy and cold for the most part but I still wished I could have been there. Note to self for next year - you know that hillwork? DO MORE!

No hills for me yesterday; like a few other peeps I've been feeling a bit off colour so I had a days rest. I hope to be ok for tonight's little excursion - I've been looking forward to it for weeks :D

Ooh Linda - sorry but that made me laugh! :rotfl: I think that's the sort of thing that most of us fear doing
