DFW running club part 4!! ALL ARE WELCOME!!

Hey guys - I'm fed up with being tired, and crawling around the same routes on dark evenings on my own. Is anyone doing this south london 10k on Sunday? I might enter, even though I'm not fast enough to get a good time at the minute, maybe it'll be a good motivator. Really missing the crowd effect. Roundshaw park run is just so miserable in wet mud, I'm just not good enough to get any pleasure out of it. Oh, and I'm blowed if I can work out the bloomin' map my run to plan routes/distances!
Rich, ages ago you sent me a link of a website that was a planning tool, for target times/plans based on your current PBs - can you remember what it was?
Someone give me a kick, or some faster feet!!! I'm going out about 3 times a week, but I'm just not getting anywhere.0 -
Found it - mcmillans0

Chin up bj - spring is on it's way
We'll all feel better when we can get out in daylight and see where we're running.
It sounds as though entering a few races is just what you need - what are your medium/long term targets?2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
BJ - What are the 3 runs a week that you're doing at the moment?
If they're all the same pretty much then you will hit a plateau and not go beyond. Its time to mix things up!!!!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

We are now live (but still in development!).
The site is completely free to use and we are currently working our way through filling out the main sections.
Because I want to admin relatively easy its by 'invite only' to join up, so if you are interested in being a part of it (we'll still be posting here as well) then send me a pm  (i'm just going to clear out my inbox now).
Rich is working on the FAQs and I am populating the training diaries - if you'd like to have one up you'll need to send me the link to a google doc with available to all in the settings url and I will paste it in for you0 -
Nice running Simply and Rich, Sal hope you feel less achy soon, and Becky hope you are better soon too. BJ - keep on going, it is getting lighter in mornings and evenings and it'lll soon be spring! Becky, site looks good - definitely send me an invite
(although I am slightly concerned by the "running singles" dating ad at the top :rotfl:)
Set off last night and ten minutes in it started snowing - got quite heavy! Quite a few other runners about and without fail everyone grinned at each other in a sort of communal "we're running in the snow" wayI need to get a watch as I keep knocking the stopwatch on my phone off, but I did check the time thankfully - did 8 miles in 1 hr 20, hit 2 miles at 20 mins, 4 miles at 40 mins and 6 miles at 60 mins so I think you could say that was a pretty steady pace

Are you feeling ready for the Kilomathon squizz?
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

I'm not quite as prepared as I would like to be - I'd rather feel totally comfortable with the distance - but know I can manage it and am looking forward to it.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Just pace yourself then! Is it a flat course?
