Catspaw - we looked up the results of that race 285m of ascent and descent

Sorry you're not feeling well though - its always a shame to miss a race but far more sensible than racing when unwell!

Ev - you're not supposed to wear socks with racing shoes (cause its extra weight) but I'll have them back next time I think ;)

Feeling tired now but very pleased, went out for a huge carvery meal then back home to sort out kids and stuff for work tomorrow. No rest, back out running tomorrow after I put together a new training schedule.

    Hello,

Here complete beginner. I started the c25k programme three weeks ago and am aiming to run 3 miles for Sport Relief in the end of March. I have enjoyed my little training so much that I am already started to think what to do after this. I would like to keep running and keep increasing the distance and hopefully find nice runs to aim for to keep me motivated. Any hints and tips gratefully received.

Great improvement on the wava Ev :D

    Hello Maru :D

We've had lots of newbies of the last few days so I'll repeat the same advice really - we do not recommend the C25K programme as frankly we think its learning to run before you can walk - we always recommend people without a good base of fitness embark on a 4-6 week brisk walking programme in order to prepare the body for the stresses and strains of running...

However, since you have started good luck with your training - if there's only two tips you take away - be consistent and dont binge run and have long term goals not just short term ones - people who do this start running and stick at it and make tons of progress as well - good luck :)
