Thanks Rich - 6 miles Hilly it is for me tomorrow then and I'll enjoy every second ................ of the downhill sections. There will be plenty of Big Picture/Little Picture chanting going on
It's great that you're feeling strong and confident evab - sub 60 mins should be on the cards with all the hard work you've been putting in.
Most people I know think I'm nuts for running too (especially at my agepah!!) but I see loads of runners when I'm out and about so we can't all be nutters. Can we??? :rotfl:

Your age?
Its all in the mind - I bet you actually feel 10 years younger compared to a couple of years ago!
Just ask them the question what they think the human body is best designed for, Running or Couch Sitting?
Long term running bring lots of health benefits, long term couch sitting brings lots of health problems..........so we all know where the nutters are - sitting on the couch!:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning SVB and welcome to the thread
We have tended to find that people who set long term specific goals (say a race distance or a time for a distance) do a lot better and hang around a lot longer so it might be worth having a think about that over the next few weeks...well done on your 2k0 -
Hello peeps! Stranger returning.
Yesterday, instead of complaining how I don't have time and I need to do this and that, and can't do that, I just went home, put my running gear on and was out of the door! Need to check my distance as same'ish route but from different place, it'll be around 4 mile'ish though. Took it easy and did it in 38:32.
I'm back!!!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Welome back tirlittan, good running!
Welcome svb, hope to see you regularly0 -
My cold seems to be on its way out now - pretty annoyed at losing a week of running! Not sure whether to attempt long run at the weekend (was planning to do 12-13 miles) or do a shorter one at weekend and longer one during the week. Maybe just set out and see how it feels...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Welcome back Tirlittan well done on the first run back
Red - I vote shorter - no point in killing yourself with too much too soon! Glad you are feeling better though
Okay so I went out and did a short sharp one to test the waters:
Fri - 4.16 miles in 34:57 8:24 mins/mile - and it was such a nice day that I added a 2 mile walk on the end in the sunshine! Feeling a lot better but still tired so thats why I didnt go longer - still nervous about Sunday and whether I am going to be fully fit for it but we'll see I guess...0 -
