Booo had an annoying one tonight but I cant really complain as it doesnt happen often:
wasnt really in the mood to go out, but went, warmed up (second mile 8:55) and did one rep at 7:34 (which is my fastest first rep to date)...just swinging into the second corner of the first lap on my second rep and ran into a woman with two dogs on leads, stopped my watch and slowed to pass the dogs, but it was clear she wasnt moving anywhere (oh there nearly could have been an accident she said) even though there's a whole garden to walk your dogs in - she doesnt need to be using the track around it, so I decided to head back - its only the second time thats ever happened but I just didnt want to get into an argument with some posh toff about who has a right to be there...
Nevermind - am clearly in good shape anyway!0 -
Hehe Stop causing trouble, you!:p
Having said that, I did give a lengthy glare to a woman in Battersea yesterday who had 2 dogs on those ever extending leads. So there she was with a trip wire right across the full width of the Thames side path (must be 15 metres wide) waiting for all the lovely runners to come along and break something.
Why are they always the women with snappy little rat like dogs that cause all the problems? The labradors are never a problem.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Did you enjoy your weekend? It feels weird when you've moved your long run doesnt it!
I had a lovely weekend thanks Becky. I did some cross training on Saturday - Extreme Cleaning in the morning, Endurance Ironing in the afternoon and Dancercise at my works Xmas Do in the evening.
I should have run Friday's deferred 6 miles yesterday but was a little weary and a lot lazy so cooked a nice roast and wrapped pressies instead. Feel nicely rested and raring to go now!!
Bad luck on your encounter with the lady and her dogs tonight - but nice first rep pace :T
Hellooooooooo evab - nice to see you again. Come back soon, we've missed you.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Yep that was the problem here - less the dog more lead issues (she had whippets so they were hard to see in the dark too!). Those leads are a bit dangerous for runners it has to be said - but its a shared garden so she has every right to be there too (and the path is about a metre wide so no running around). Am pleased with the first rep anyway!
Glad you enjoyed yourself Simply0 -
Hope everyone is well and managing to avoid all the bugs that my two boys keep passing my way???!!
I haven't run since last Sunday (race day) I am just hoping that when the kids finish school on Friday & hubby finishes work same day that I will then be able to get out running again!Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
Oh that's annoying Becky! Endurance ironing doesn't sound much fun Simply
Went out last night on a 'see what happens' sort of run, ended up doing 6.6m in 1:11:50 (just under 11 min miles) - really pleased with that!
One question - how long should sorbothane insoles last? My feet felt a bit sore last night like there wasn't enough between them and the pavement - think my insoles have done about 200 miles.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hi Hannah good to see you - hope you can get some runs in later in the week and that you are enjoy your post race rest!
Good running redSorbs last about 500 miles depending on how hard you are on your feet, so I'd say you've got a bit of a way to go on them yet! Dont ofrget once you have bought a new pair you can use the old ones in your high heels

Hmm might have been the shoes I had on yesterday then making my feet hurt - high heels that could probably do with some insoles of their own!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I have two pairs of old sorbs - one for each of my worst shoes! I can hardly walk in high heels as it is so I need all the help I can get0
