*****sneaks in*****
Hi all sorry for being AWOL for a while, I've been reading your excellent progress and huge congrats to you Becky on your running this weekend
.
I've had a break due to a few reasons, such as a pretty !!!!!! time at work which sends me into hibernation instead of using that anger in a positive way, I've had a couple of days of sick and generally just enjoying time with the family preparing for Xmas. I was planning on starting again today but I'm off sick again with a stinking cold and bad sinuses. But enough moaning once I kick this bug I'll be back out again and raring to go, I feel terrible for missing so much running.
Hope everyone is OK x

Wow well done Becky! :T
Well hmmm... I only managed 3.5 miles on Saturday (and the same walk back), just felt totally drained and lacking in energy  Had a very lazy weekend otherwise and feel a lot better today so think I'm gonna try my long run tonight instead.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I know - its not as though she got lost!:p
In fact her progress over the last year has been really impressive but what happened on Saturday is a bit bizarre, after all she must have physically taken the disc and registered her result...its not as though she just dropped out and the results people made a mistake because the system doesnt work like that. How lucky was Kipruto Rotich finishing 8 minutes behind the first across the line and yet picked up a $5,000 winner's cheque? Jammy git!!:p:p

Oh dear - thats not good is it! At least they got to keep their money but no course record which is a bit of a shame0

I've had a thought about that odd result - could she and someone else (partner, friend etc) have swapped barcodes by mistake so they just scanned it, which would mean someone else further down should have a very slow time...which in fact there is someone else with the same surname and there are four people with that surname registered at Leeds...hmmm0

Very plausible......
You're not doing too bad on this problem solving lark.
It follows hot on the heels of coming up with the only sensible suggestion I've heard for this new bouncy kangaroo running style....treadmills. I'm nearly convinced on that one the more I think about it.
So, if that is the case, while treadmills may be no detriment to people who already have a developed running style, it would certainly seem a very bad way of starting out as it creates a very inefficient (and tiring) running style. Interesting.......Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
