Oooohhhh, that's harsh! But true - and you so deserve it, but you don't deserve the injured bones! We're definitely going back to Athens next year, hope to stay a bit longer. how about you run the marathon again, I do the 10K, then we swap medals - after all, then we'll both have one of each?!

I did it!!! I went for the park run!!! :D

It was an experience. At the start line I stayed at the back, because when I looked at the results from the last run, I expected to be the last one. When the gun went off (not sure they used a gun...?) it was amazing how quickly the pack stretched and the front was couple of hundred metres ahead of you. Heard some people saying behind me that the start pace was quicker than usually. I decided to just pace myself and let people get ahead.

From 2k to 3k is a loop and as I was approaching the 2k mark, the first runners were already past 3k. I though that was quite funny, but there seems to be a nice mixture of runners. Between 2k and 4k I over took a few runners and at 4k pulled up a gear. No chance of any kind of sprint at the end though as legs were feeling heavy and just before I noticed a sign saying 400m to the finishing line I was hoping it would end soon.

It was quite difficult to try to pace yourself as there's such a variety of runners and you are not sure how fast they are. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and was pleased I got out of bed to do the run and suprised myself with my time. Definitely under half an hour, with good luck just under 29min. Will update later when the results are up.

    EDIT: Results are up. I was 116th out of 138. Time 28.07! :D 52.70%
    :D I'm well pleased!

Well done tirlittan! I haven't done a parkrun yet but they do sound like great fun.

I went out on the trails again this morning. I was expecting horrendous weather, having looked at the forecast yesterday but it was very pleasant. We went on some trails around Parbold near Ormskirk in West Lancashire. A very picturesque part of the world. Just over 7 hilly, muddy miles and great fun. I was running down this leafy path, with trees above me and my friends around me, and I just thought "this is why I run", it was great.

Topping it off we had coffee and iced buns back at the car - a perfect morning.

Hope everyone else enjoys their weekend runs as much as I did today :D.

    Week 20 - W7/9 to Reindeer Run 10k
    Tue 17/11 - 4.23m 52:16 (12:21/m) Hilly route (my friend says it just a slope!)
    Thu 19/11 - 4m 48:09 (12:02/m)
Sat 21/11 - 4m 44:37 (11:09/m) 2m out fartlek when the wind wasn't too bad. Head wind most of way back. Going by training plan today should have been a 10 miler but hubby was called into work last minute with a problem so I had to just do the 4. I don't think my legs would have managed a 10 today though to be honest in that wind.
