Well down here they get collected every day so I was exceedingly lucky I have to say otherwise it could have been messy - as it was I was just a bit shocked and embarrassed!!!0

Erm, you were saying about consistency rich... today saw splits of 9:30, 9:28, 9:31, 9:28 (and 9:06 for the last .1). And I wasn't even trying for that - just a run to how I felt, no target sort of thing, after the good runs earlier in the week. It did feel harder work than the other runs but that might well have been down to the swirling/strong wind!
Sun: 5.2 miles in 48:29 (9:19/mile)
Mon: 6 miles in 55:11 (9:11/mile)
Tue: 5 miles in 46:55 (9:21/mile)
Wed: 4.1 miles in 38:55 (9:29/mile)
Total for the week = 20.3 miles
Good to see you back out and up to speed Simply. And some good running from Chick, tirlittan, Linda, becky, and Evab.
Curry is a definately a good reason not to run I reckon Linda.
And UK - stop running! Repeat after me - "no running until it is fixed"0 -
Hannah - I've had to learn not to watch the scales so much! Not quite there! But the running is simply the best for tone and firming up, which is much more important and effective in how we look too.
Becky - soft falls to you! Do you wear a head lamp? My evening runs take in parks, I keep talking about buying one, but they're a bit pricey. Think I've got to bite the bullet and just pay!0 -
No but I tripped on a well lit road - there's no hope for me is there0

This mornings run was FUN - the first 2 miles were into a headwind that quite literally stopped me in my tracks a few times and when I turned round I was buffeted from the side and nearly knocked off my feet. :rotfl: Great fun, I really enjoyed it
Oh dear Becky it's a good job you landed in the leaves - I hope you're not damaged.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at krider - that is just soooo consistent!!!!
Uk - tut, tut you naughty boy - STOP RUNNING
Oh dear Rich - it was bad enough when I was running this morning thinking about whether or not I was leaning forward. Now I've got to think about foot strike, arm movements and Bucket Bum :rotfl:2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
uk - hope you are taking advice from people on here?!- I can't believe you went for a run!!!
Becky- How are you feeling now? I hope you laughed lots.
A 4 mile tempo run for me tomorrow (if my legs will manage, a hard pilates and step class for me this eve!)- Not sure have absorbed all the technique advice yet Rich, but will certainly try and be more aware of how I run tomorrow.(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
Morning all.. Krider - wow at the consistency! UK - stop it and get it sorted out. And Becky, just :rotfl:
Had talked myself out of running last night but felt so grumpy by later in the evening that I had to go out, only did two miles - my lungs were hurting but my legs felt great - time 17:33 (first mile 08:59, second 08:34) so pretty happy with thatDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I must say that I took up running in the hope that it would help my weight loss, it hasn't really helped at the scales but my overall shape is changing and the inches are coming off which is great but its now not the reason that I am going out running if you see what I mean, I just love running!:D:eek:
That's good to hear. I also started running "to lose weight" until I realised it's something you've got to do for the fun of it and to take part in races etc. You have to learn to ignore the scales to a certain degree. After all, you don't really want to lose "weight", you want to lose body fat and to tone up.
As has been said before, if "weight" loss is your sole gain, don't run - walk and diet. If you want to be more slim, toned and healthy, then run. Of course, you have to keep up the running or it'll all come back to haunt you!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
