Morning all!
My cough is developing nicely (gross), but isnt really bad, so I am skipping off the speed work this week and going for a nice slow run tonight instead - a bit of rest this week wont do me any harm in the long scheme of things and I can put some more miles in instead
Shame about your HP results KYCU!!0 -

Running club for me tonight :j. Still waiting for HP timeThey've had trouble uploading the results, even if they lost them which I'm sure they haven't, I still have my garmin time
Don't worry, they haven't lost them:
Results will be up soon!
There was a problem with the results upload on Saturday!!!
This has now been resolved and they should appear shortly
Regards
Mark Kelly
Talking of parkruns, I'm really looking forward to the next couple of runs as it is a chance to experience another 2 new courses.....Black park in Slough this Saturday and then the new South Manchester event as soon as practical (probably in about a month's time).:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

So what was your time, KYCU...lets get that WAVA sorted out!:D:D
I'm impressed that Heaton park has now got over 3 figures attending....119 on Saturday compared to 32 when we did that first race....its starting to get popular. It might struggle, though, now that there are 4 parkruns in Manchester.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning all. Have been reading a bit more stuff and decided that maybe I should do at least one interval session a week, but as I know 'you lot' (;)) are not that keen on walk-run-walk, I'm coming for a bit of advice, how should this be done?
My aim is to build more stamina and lose some fat, if this helps.
Many thanks.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
There's no need to do an interval session at all at this stage - if you *want* to add a speed session (you dont have to) try a tempo run or fartlek as the injury risk is much less with these types of run
Oh and if you want to fat burn then slow runs are much better - fast runs burn calories because the body utilises the easiest available fuel (i.e. your recent food), whereas on slow runs your body has time to convert the more difficult fat stores to energy!0 -

I started running in january and i havent done an interval session yet (just about to start). If your new I wouldnt bother for a while, you more likely to injure yourself, best building the strength up first.
