Your results will be up soon KYCU - sometimesthe server fails so they have to upload them on Monday
Had a good week last week but felt very rough yesterday - lots of miles in the legs and considering that my pace was 9:41 mins/mile over the race and my usual long run pace is 10:30 its not surprising my legs were complaining a bit yesterday...
Anyway did 44 miles last week and hoping for around 48-49 this week so getting back up to good mileage now
Was lovely to meet chick and shame we didnt catch KMS - is that you in the middle of that pic? I looked over and saw you if it is and smiled but wasnt feeling great so didnt want to say hi - barfing on your shoes wouldnt have been a great introduction!!0 -

I know I'm just desperate to get on the wava board. I didnt realise you put in so much milage, I feel like a right slacker. I think my shoes have just about dried out after saturday . At least I now know what you and rich mean by 'training pace' and 'race pace'. :rotfl:

Just built up to it slowly over the last year - my max week I think was 3 weeks before marathon day in April, but it never feels like much compared to Rich's 80+s :eek:0

Hi all, mind if I join in? For next year I've signed up for a half marathon a 10k and a marathon - in that order.....I've only ever run 10ks before although I've walked a marathon (8hrs) and a 54 mile non stop charity walk (took 24 hours and 57 minutes - but it was a proper hike over hills!!).
I've just started training so I'm not yet sure what to aim for as a marathon or half marathon time. Any advice on what might be a realistic goal other than finishing would be very welcomeI'm hoping to get my 10k time to about 50 minutes but at the moment just getting under an hour would be good. Although I've done a few 10ks before I've never really pushed myself very hard
LMortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Blog link http://beautifulorpractical.blogspot.com/2010/07/oh-this-is-all-new.html :j0 -

Hi Louba,
Before we can talk about times we need to know what you are doing now on a weekly basis and how you intend to change over the course of the year and also when your races are in the year.
To be honest the best way might be to treat the half and 10k as part of the marathon training so your times wont be as fast as they can be becuase you'll be tired from lots of mileage but they will be good bases to work from.
Also what were you previous 10k times?
Oh and welcome!!! Sorry am half asleep this morning0 -
Hi all, been here before, but not much running done since.
Just started again couple of weeks ago. I do running just for the free exercise and building bit of stamina, no intention to do any races or anything like that, but quite enjoy reading this thread.:)
Done 2 runs a week and this is my third week, no running done yet. First three times I just did a quick run to get back into it,about 20minutes and when I used walkjogrun, it was about 2.3mi. My fourth and last run to date I did a preplanned route which I then decided to extend from 5k run to a 4miler. I went really slow, kept the same pace pretty much all the way through and so found it really easy, took me 49minutes though, but was pleased as almost didn't go for a run at all and I think that was my first 4miler outside. Think I'll try to do couple of 4mi runs each week and see if I want to progress from there.
Thanks for a good thread though.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Bah! I'm ill!
Thought it was jet lag when I landed Saturday morning, but it has since mutated into man flu.
So, 2 weeks running on cr&ppy treadmills in the US, followed by a lay-off due to illness. My preparation for Blackpool in April has gone right out the window.
Guess I'll just have to head out in a few days - once I feel better - and see where I am. Training plan may need tweaking a bit, but then I had a fair bit of flexibility built in anyway.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
