Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Thursday Ist October It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning everyone.
Feel tired today and I have a headache. Got lots to do today, need to get a friends childs birthday card and pressie, tax the car, do some housework, do some swotting up on a few things in case Ofsted decend upon us. Not really what I need with a banging headache. Think I shall have some brekkie and then have some ibuprophen - don't think I'll shift the headache any other way (well not normally when I wake up with one
)
Master Bitsy had a lovely day yesterday and he's really enjoying all of his presents. Rode back from school on his new bike so he's a happy boy (well most of the time LOL!)
Tea should be a chicken curry in SC but I haven't got anything prepared. Its all gone to pot this week
Anyway off to read yesterdays thread and have a nose and a well deserved coffee.
Have a good day all OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning Chums, another dry day again here as well. I think I have forgotten what a good splash of rain is,no doubt it won't last forever, still it keeps the heating bills down.Busy day here today but hopefully a NSD when it comes to shopping as I have more than enough food in to keep me going over the weekend.Off to Eltham today to take DD for her final interview for her job, fingers crossed. Then this afternoon I am at the breast clinic, hopefully again picking up my new bra's (stops all that bouncing along a bit
).Hope everyone has a good day<<hugs to those in need > be back later I expect
Cheers JackieO0 -
Morning all!
Lovely sunny day again here, yay! Will stick some more washing on in a bit, then it can line dry - have added getting the washing in to the kids chores at night whilst I'm at work, saves a fair bit of time and stops me getting harrassed! My turn tonight though as I'm not working!
BM on, yoghurt in flask, lunches made. Hoovering and pots all done last night. So once dd3 goes off to school I shall be going back to bed, pooped from work and also want to sleep off this cold, well rest anyway, will prop read my book!
Lunches were marmite sarnies (why have they got a marmite obsession lately?!), hm fairy cakes, apples, watermelon and cheese cubes
Dinner WILL be chicken pie today, with baby roasties and veg for the kids, I'm off out for a curry tonight, good thing too, cos I'll hopefully be able to taste it!
Grabbed some bargains on my tea break last night, half a dozen packs of "posh" sausages reduced to 36p from £3.59, organic leeks (so will have lots of flavour) for 20p a bunch, organic apples for 50p and fresh pork kebabs for 50p (we will have to have the bbq at the weekend now!). Also bought a multipack of crisps that had been overfilled, had 23 bags in instead of 12, what a flook! Felt rather pleased with my goodies, as not been many bargains at all lately!
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
WHITE RABBITS, WHITE RABBITS, WHITE RABBITS!!
Morning all - pinch, punch 1st of the month!! I cannot believe it is October already!! Oh well - suppose summer is officially over - so much for the 'late' hot summer they predicted! I think its rained for about 7 weeks here now!! Well what do I expect up here in the NorthWest!
Didn't get on last night as was soooo busy - finished work at 6 then came home, washed up, put on WM and hung out, hoovered downstairs, swept and mopped and tidy front room - didn't really expect to do anything as OH was off yesterday but the only thing he did was roll out the pastry for me!!!!! Grrrrr!! Anyway - downstairs is clean now - will try and do some upstairs tonight if I have time. DS has beavers and DD is going to see Disneys princess on ice with her friend! Rump steak and chips for tea! Yum!
Well, I've just seen the time and no-one is dressed yet! Oooops!! See you laters!

Morning Guys!
It's quiet on here this morning.
Didnt wake up till nearly 7 which is a miracle for me:D...nurse should be here any minute. My joints are very painful today, so Im guessing drizzle.
Beds have been stripped and put in the WM, DW has been on and emptied and house tidy for the cleaner this morning.
OH made me a lovely toasted bacon butty for breakfast but could only manage half, so he had the other half. I have to eat something so that I can take the pain killers.
We had the lentil, spinach and goats cheese pie last night and it was AWFUL! Has anyone else tried it. I still have half of it here if anyone wants it:D The roasted veg and boiled spuds were lovely though.
Anyway, nurse here, so better go.
Hugs to all.

Morning peeps
a nice dry bright morning so far, it has rained in the night but not very much - bet the plants enjoyed it though.
I`ll be off out with the houndies shortly and then i`m off to Mr M`s to grab a few bargains, i had intended to go yesterday but ended up not having enough time before setting off for w*rk.
I had managed to convince myself that today was Friday, i`m really awful with the days/dates atm and i`ve no idea why. Luckily i checked this morning and realised my mistake so i didn`t take the wheely bin to the bottom of the drive
Wo*k later so i need to get a wiggle on and run around with the hoover and have a quick s&s around downstairs, i`m trying to keep on top of it all as i will only get one day off in the next 16 days and the shifts are quite long so if i`m not organised the results won`t be worth thinking about.
((((HUGS))))for you Bargainbird
Hope that everyone has a lovely day.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

morning all!
2 days off now for me:j
tonight a gang of us girlies from work are taking part in a quiz night(our first attempt) in aid of riding for the disabled so that should be fun!:D
This morning I'm cleaning for Mum then waiting in this afternoon for my Asda delivery - my sister has had a bad experience with them this week on her first online shop - it never came and after 2 days woth countless phonecalls it is promised for tonight:mad: she's furious because they've taken the money before she's had the goods - they blamed it on van problems but my sister is no pushover and is demanding compensation as she's had to use a local corner shop for catfood etc at vsat expense. I think she#ll be sticking to Tesco from now on although I've used Asda regularly with no problems.
OSiness - have cleaned through, 2 loads of washing so far, not sure about tea yet will consult with Taplord later.
DS2 has lost his debit card:rolleyes: so I need to go to the bank later - I've searched his room twice but there's no sign of it, luckily he's never got much in there.
(((hugs))) to Bargainbird and family
PP - shame about the tart as it sounded really nice!hope your joints ease later x
mummysaver - hope you feel better after a sleep x
thats it for now
take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all,
I've had awful trouble getting into the forum the last few days. I ignored updates
and once I'd installed them everything seems to be running ok. The other solution was to delete cookies. So glad the updates worked as I have no idea how to delete cookies.
Made a passionfruit & lime slice this morning. I even made HM condensed milk seeing as I had none in the cupboard. It's yummy, not good for the waist line I expect though.
Ironed this arv & then did yard work. Had battered eggplant with veggies for tea tonight followed by an iceblock. Again, all very fat free.
Off to the shops tomorrow morning. Going out for tea tomorrow night. DD coming over. Off to Ikea on Saturday with DS2. He wants me to help him with some furniture. I know for a fact I'll drive him nuts in the first 1/2 hour.
I've just finally got around to picking & paying for the bamboo door curtain that I'm been dithering about the last week.
JackieO We need to get rain here badly. The grass is already going brown and it's not even summer yet.
Ruby Fish fingers have to be safer than Vietnamese fish.
Pink Sorry to read you're having a hard time of it atm. Hope things pick up for you sooner.
CM:kisses3:
Well I hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those not well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
