Hope you feel less tired today and can crack on with the list for this week
Unfortunately I am off sick today. Woke up with a sore throat and have been coughing most of the night so I am sticking to my vow to put my health before work and am not going to drag myself in. Especially as I have the hospital this afternoon so would only be there for a few hours anyway.
I don't think the hospital are going to be pleased as I only had IVs 2 weeks ago and am already ill!! Also can't have my flu jab on Wednesday now as they won't do it if you are unwell.
I have just emailed the lady at work about Lucky and she said she was a little bit nervous on Saturday night but after a long cuddle, she was ok and was eating ok too.
Going to still try and do some of the easier things on my list before going to the hospital today though, the ones that involve just sitting in bed with my laptop!

Feel really down now. Just spoken to my colleague at work who I thought was my friend and she had a go saying how she wasn't feeling well but dragged herself into work and asking me if I was going to be off for another month! I told her this is nothing like last time and that hopefully the doctor will give me the all clear to come in tomorrow.
She just made me feel really guilty saying that she had loads of work to do and that she was the only one who did anything in our team.
Maybe I shouldn't be working anymore. Maybe at 28 I am getting on a bit for someone with CF and should be taking it easier to prolong my life a bit longer. Maybe it isn't fair on my colleagues to have to keep on covering me when I am ill (even though I have actually only had 2 days off sick since October last year before my spell in hospital).
I am going to speak to my doctor and nurse today to find out what they think about me working/not working.

Hey emily - didnt realise u had a new diary!
Sorry to hear u have been poorly - but pleased u r now putting ur health first.
I did exactly the same at xmas last year - going to work was paying the debt off but was running me into the ground. So I left.... I'm still here and we are copying fine! It was the best decision I made. Good luck with whatever u decide xxDFW Nerd #11520 -
Well I spoke to my doctor and he said that every CF patient is different and it is up to me when I give up work. He said as long as I feel like I am able to work then I should do to keep my life as normal as possible.
He suggested that maybe instead of working my 30 hours over 4 days, I should work them over 5 days but only do 6 hours a day. Therefore I will be able to go in later (probably 10am-4pm), get a little lay in, not have to rush my medication and physio and possibly do myself a cooked breakfast every morning too so that I can put on weight.
Worth a try I guess. I also had an email from my colleague apologising and saying how stressed she was and she shouldn't have taken it out on me.

Please don't give up on your challenge, I think what you are doing is very inspiring, you are showing exactly how hard it is to get debt free in the real world with all the real problems that we face everyday.A good advice is worth considering & researching0

Pleased your colleague from work apologised to you - she clearly is very stressed!!!!
Can you speak to work about it before making a decision? Or do you think it will do harm to you? Do they know about your condition already? It is tricky as it is finding the balance between keeping a normal life and keeping fit and healthy. Could you work from home at all? I guess it depends on your employer.
Gosh cooking a fried breakfast and doing physio sounds like more than enough to do before 10am!
Take care!DFW Nerd #11520 -

Thank you. I was just really down yesterday. Always happens when I don't feel well and have to go to the hospital. I think my friend having a go was the final straw.
I feel better today, even though I still have a cold and an annoying cough. Work was really busy but I managed to get my workload up together as I am day off tomorrow. I emailed my boss about changing my hours but she isn't back until tomorrow so won't speak to her until Thursday.
Anyway, I am back at the hospital on 14th December and I really want to get back up to 8 stone by then. I am currently 7 stone 7 pounds. So my meal plan is:
Cooked breakfast
Snack around 11am (crisps & chocolate probably)
Lunch of a ready meal done in the microwave at work (some are over 600 calories!)
Snack around 3pm (fruit and biscuits maybe?)
Dinner (my usual is chips, beans and some Birdseye product!)
Snack around 8pm
Drink of milk or high calorie drink before bed
That has to put some weight on me surely!
Must get to sleep anyway, think the cough mixture has kicked in now!!

Hi Ems
Sorry to hear that you're not well again but you sound quite postive which is very encouraging
Sound like your colleague at work just has a really bad day and took it out on you because your close friends, they probably stressed out all night at home knowing how they would have upset you and I'm glad they apologised to you. I did this to my best mate at work a while back so I had to grovel and buy him his favourite crips. He did something wrong and I just exploded normally I would have laughed and called him an idiot
On the work issue as it benefits work as well as you to change your hours I hope that they see sense and allow to work over the 5 days
Glad Lucky is settling in and being looked after, sound like you need some hugs as well :grouphug:
I was off on Monday so I did some Christmas shopping all from the comfort of bed, how I love on-line shopping, but at least it ticked something of my to do list :rotfl:Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hi everyone
I have been having a very thoughtful afternoon. Whilst I value my health a lot and want to try and keep myself as healthy as I can, I also desperately want to be debt free too. I have seen so many nice pieces of furniture that I want for when I move, however I can't get them because of my debt.
I haven't been away for over 3 years, I can't even afford to renew my passport - because of my debt. There are loads of clothes that I want in Jane Norman, but my debt prevents me from getting them. I don't want to live the rest of my life like this. I want to be able to go out for a meal or buy a new top wthout feeling guilty.
So I pledge to get out of debt ASAP. I will still look after myself, I promise, but I just want the freedom that becoming debt free would give me.
So I have come up with a few ways that will help me:- Giving up Avon. It takes me a good 5-6 hours to do every campaign, I have to walk around in the cold dark nights which is no good for my health and I don't make any money from it as I spend all that I make on products for myself. It is also far too tempting to spend over my commission. The time that I take to do it can be used to answer questions on AQA and I could probably make around £30-£40 from that compared to a few freebies with Avon.
- Selling the Amazon vouchers that I get from BP on eBay instead of saving up for something I don't need. I have managed to redeem for a £10 voucher this week so that will go straight on eBay tomorrow evening. The money I get will go straight towards Capital One.
- Save my Dooyoo miles for a £50 cheque instead of Amazon vouchers and put this towards Capital One (after all £50 is 5% of the debt
).
- Sell most of my gold jewellery on eBay. I tend to wear cheap Avon necklaces more these days and I think they could get around £100 on eBay which again can go straight towards Capital One (another 10%).
- Use more coupons to save money on food. Also mainly shop in Sainsburys and Tesco, only buying items on special offer, to save my Nectar and Clubcard points. I like to keep my Nectar points (currently £5) and a £6 Tesco voucher in case I find myself with no money so at least I can get a bit of petrol and food. Only get petrol at Tesco or Sainsburys too.
- Do TMF offers to get some free food.
- Check out the freebie board daily for good freebies so I don't miss out.
- Visiting carboots/charity shops for anything I need like clothes, presents etc.
- Keeping up with all my surveys and putting any cash towards Capital One or selling any vouchers to go towards it too.
- Starting on the daily clicks (can probably get these done at work).
Off to check the freebies board.
