who makes the most posts and does your opinion benefit you?
I make a lot of posts, too many in fact.
My opinion does benefit me, in that I have an opinion and quite like having one.0 -

Now i believe things are picking up and that is why im buying and thats my opinion.
If people think houses are going to crash give your opinion yes, but i bet you 9 out of the 10 people who post about houses crashing will benefit through it, so why dont they just admit it?
If you have sneaked downstairs without waking mommy and daddy up, to watch jurasic park well done, one day you might have your own living room to watch it in.
Oh my......
I thought I had given a straight answer....I don't have a scoobie why I come on here! I suppose like others it is almost a compulsion because I actually have no vested interest in the market doing cartwheels if it wanted to.
Prices rise , doesn't make a difference to me as I don't own and my rent is not subject to increase (or even decrease!) in line with the housing market.
Prices fall, doesn't make a difference to me as I don't own and more importantly, I couldn't give two hoots about owning either.
Prices stay the same, doesn't make a difference to me.
Actually, you could say that I should be more interested in prices rising as my parents own their home outright and I am in their wills to inherit along with my siblings...but then I don't actually count that as a given due to the fact that they could need the equity to provide for care home fees, they could take my advice and sell up to cruise around the world..or I could die before them.
As for your last comment - Hmmm, that is straight out of the playground and not really appropriate to the level of discussion on this board. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

My postings usually do not benefit me. I come on here because it's free and I pick up some money saving tips. Sometimes I just like to join in a conversation while I'm vegacising on the sofa.
I try to help if and when I feel able. Sometimes I try to be humerous but at other times I can be rather blunt and might upset people. We all have bad days.
Right now I'm asking people to sign my petition (link) whilst I attempt to convince the CSA that I should have a right to pay by standing order.

I'll have you know that I have sneaked out from the bike sheds and I am now across the road and round the corner having a sneaky fag off school grounds! We made it! My reason for being here....?
Well, it isn't house prices. I am not really motivated to buy a bigger house. My current place is paid for, so I don't feel I can contribute on mortgage rates etc.
I do understand why it's important for those who want a house, or need to move etc. But I'm not sure why the likes of Hamish feel so passionate about promoting house prices, unless there's true vested interest of course, like being an EA.
Over the last 2 years I've found my confidence in the economy shrinking. I try to rationalise it, and believe it or not, one of the information sources is here...cherry picked articles which are linked and commented on. So I have to thank the posters here for that

Thanks, lir. You will know from the Thanks that I've been lurking, but am just getting used to the major life change for me of not working/retirement. I have little opinion on the economy, houses, whatever, because my head is just full of all the newness.

Who makes the most posts?
It seems to vary over the past 2 years I have pottered about on here. Posters can get very caught in a loop and be, almost, OCD (not wanting to use the descrip lightly but YKWIM?) about things...sometimes unreasonably so.
Just a human trait I guess. Easy to avoid in Internetland though, as you can just not read or react to it.
I have found in Real Life that those that tend to get caught in A Mantra or Mantra type behaviour have some sort of doubt, fear or insecurity about something or another. Endlessly repeating the Mantra makes it feel more true. Religions over 1000's of years know about this stuff.;)
I have noticed it a lot on the board, people chewing over a decsion or problem, then they don't post so much or go completely as they move on with whatever decision they have made.
At any one time, there can be quite a few indecisive types around who never seem to make a decision...so get caught in a loop for a while.
I only use the board for personal therapy...writing stuff out unravels things in my mind and then there is the bonus of all the nice, interesting people I have interracted with along the way
.....and there is always PN's if this board disapears.
Mind you, I am going off it a bit....couple of posts aimed at moi haven't been very 'nishe'....but the interesting, nice people shine through every time.
Love Carolt's Watercooler analogy...that's what this is for me..my evening water cooler......as I never really stop thinking about or doing work...cos it's different when it's your own business..it's all consuming all of the time..even if it's just inside ones head.0 -
who makes the most posts and does your opinion benefit you?
Sticking my head up over the parapet, I'm going to say what a strange sort of a question this is. It's not really a question at all.
How are you more likely to benefit from your opinion if you make the most posts?
And how does your opinion benefit you anyway? Usually you decide what benefits you and your opinion is formed from that understanding.
And, again, expressing your opinion on a public board is to communicate your thinking to others. Or would the question suggest that one writes one's opinion one day then reads it back the next day and suddenly, bolt out of the blue, you know what to do?

basically what i see is you get the same old poster's posting the same about house crashes this and that, and its their belief its really going to happen and that they think because of the situation they are going to gain from it.
Likewise its with hamish's post's they are all about the market picking up, obviously he must be relying on it for some reason, likewise the people who post about house prices going to fall all the time must have to benefit by this happening, otherwise why would you post everything that is published about house prices crashing and house prices rising?
To be honest i find it very boring thats why i like to know what personal gain posters have by the post's of house crash or gain will effect them.
If its a secret then fair enough, but if you have so much of a strong opinion of house price crashes and raises, why not say what sitiuation you are currently in??
Are you all embarressed?
Someone spouting about house prices falling/rising is very boring, but when you get someone posting it all the time you begin to feel its not really a opinion its what they want to happen, and they seem to think the more they post about it the more chance it is going to happen.
I see it were i work they have a policy of last in first out, the people who have not been there very long say it shouldnt be done like that and it should be done on skills, however people who have been there years think it should be done on service.
We are a very selfish population, ive read post's about people gazumping, gazundering and most of the post's from people who continuously post about house price falls , dont actually own a house and are hoping for them to fall enough for them to be able to buy one, i dont blame them for this, but these post's now just smell of despearation.
Hasnt anyone actually got any new material???0
