Really i just wondered if anyone else truly wont be having a Honeymoon to "go" with their wedding?? If so, what are you doing to make up for the "lack" of one??
There must be someone......
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Not me personally but I have had friends not go and then celebrate the next year. The ones that I know of stayed in a relatively local hotel for a couple of nights.
It's your honeymoon, it doesn't matter where in the world you are as long as you are together!0 -
A honeymoon is very much a luxury. There's no shame in not being able to have one! We only had ours this year- twenty years after we met, and 14 years after the wedding!Only dead fish go with the flow...0

alot of people i know have got married over the last 6yrs and most didnt have a honeymoon or may have had a wkend away to the lakes(very nice i may add)i myself may not be having a honeymoon
we said we would wait and see how things are after the wedding as i want to take our 3 kids with us
mad i know lol.x0 -
You're not alone - we're not having a honeymoon either.
We won't be able to afford the wedding I want as well as a honeymoon. The wedding itself is far more important to me (beautiful church wedding with a reception in the venue of my childhood dreams!) so we're having a weekend in Paris after the wedding.
We're then planning to save up and go on a train holiday around Canada. SO EXCITED!! But it'll take some saving and will probably be an anniversary honeymoon.

We're not having a honeymoon as such, and as for 'most' people having 2 weeks all inclusive in Mexico/Seychelles a) They're probably not and b) if they are .. Yawn.
We're hoping to go away to either The Lakes or Scottish Highlands, but given that the wedding is 6 days before Christmas (our baby's 1st one) we aren't going far or for long and he'll be coming with us.
I wouldn't worry about where you think most people are going.,___,

Hi - i feel really sad asking this (lol) ....myself and my partner have resigned ourselves pretty much to the fact we won't be able to afford a honeymoon after our wedding. The only thing we MAY do (big "may"!!) is have a couple of days away after our wedding in this country and then try to save up for a Anniversary Honeymoon...ie have our proper honeymoon on our first anniversary...even then it certainly won't be what most people seem to be having - ie, two weeks all inclusive in some hot place like Mexico or Seychelles etc etc....

We don't think we're having one, we were toying with the idea of asking for money towards our Honeymoon but we are not sure
Where ever and when ever we go our 2 children will be coming with us

We're having a short break at our favourite Lake District hotel after the wedding, and our big honeymoon probably about six months later (safari and beach
).
One of my friends got married in a January and her honeymoon wasn't until the summer - three weeks white water rafting down the Grand Canyon then visiting Vegas! She didn't feel too bad after the wedding.
I actually think it's nice to have them separate as it means there's something to look forward to once the wedding's over. When it all happens at once, I imagine the post honeymoon blues must be worse... Just my view...0 -

I wouldn't want a sun honeymoon, we don't really do sun holidays! And as for having one straight away, there's no reason why you can't do what YOU want to do as a couple, and if that means waiting for 12 months until your anniversary, that's your choice (and I think it's really romantic).0
