Spent an hour on the phone trying to find out about my "Guaranteed" A&L Zero Credit Card application, passed back and forth to Santander, A&L, Abbey and even MBNA. Apparently my previous address is still on Santander's system from closed Abbey account over 12m ago - refused to discuss the application further with me because I'd failed security!! I currently bank with A&L and they have all the correct details, no problem there but they don't administer the credit card or have any record of the offer being sent to me. Total shambles - reminds me why I left Abbey in the first place. Apparently A&L transfer to Santander on 11 Jan 10 so maybe they will start sharing their customer's information properly. I'm not sure the card is worth the hassle though reading others posts. Very apt name - ZERO progress, service and action.
