If they're just marked '2nd', then they're still totally legitimate to be put on this years cards - and you don't need to add any extra, and no-one will be charged for underpaid (as long as your cards conform to the size/weight restrictions for the appropriate category)

Mooloo, You don't need to justify your family's needs for mobile phone use to anyone. As cheryl said, regulars on this thread know why you need them, but at the end of the day, it is your business and no-one elses.

I've had a pretty busy weekend, I was working yesterday, and today my brother, sil and wee fella came home, at last. He was on good form, but they were all pretty tired, it will take them a couple of days to adjust no doubt.

DH is here for another week, but after that, I will be getting the house gutted and prepared for Christmas coming, that means a deep clean and de-junking session will be in order - no stone will be left uncleaned.:rotfl:

I am going to look on old style for some traditional cleaning methods methinks, as these seem to work out best. I still have quite a bit of cleaning materials so will use them on the way.

I'm glad the soup making went well Nyk, it sounded delish.

Hello to everyone and hugs to those who need them. xx

Mooloo, the reason I chose to ignore the poster you're referring to is because they are simply trying to pick a fight. Please don't give them a second's thought hun. We all make our own choices in life and it is NOONE'S business to judge anyone else, especially when they are completely ignorant of the facts. Life is tough and you do an amazing job; make sure you look after yourself too. Here, have a big hug from me :grouphug:

Thanks so much SFT, fingers crossed! Still no word yet but it is very early in England still :rotfl: The veg plots sound great, way to go Mr SFT :T Mr Bails will be back on the 12th, so not THAT much longer...

Hi SF, hope you had a good weekend with the BF.

Hope you don't have to spend the lodger money on the car Lynda! Well done Mr Sharp!

, the postage stamps will definitely be fine - I buy in bulk whenever Martin says they're about to increase the price and have never had any problems.

SL, bet it's great to have the wee fella back :D

Right, must go and do something. According to Buddhism (I am not a Buddhist just immersed in the culture currently) any good actions today are multiplied one hundred million times (the same with any bad actions ) so let's see how much good we can spread today :D

Have a lovely day everyone xx

That's a lovely thought - if people lived every day according to that I'm sure the world would be a much nicer place :D

I'm driving today :j My car is working, though I've been ordered to drive slowly! I will be helping out on a training course for the next few days, and I've got some teaching to do tomorrow! A bit scary but I am looking forward to it.

Good morning peeps (and good whatever time of day it is in Nepal, Bails :) )

It is a gorgeous day here, it's been light since 7am with lovely clear sky with pink and blue on the horizon, there's a shiny half moon and everything is frozen completely solid! :j NO MUD! :j It was so much nicer working my way around the hen houses letting hens & ducks out and feeding everything without needing wellies! Just means a bit of extra running in and out house as there's no running water outside. (Hose frozen solid and a good 1cm of ice over all the water buckets). I guess that's winter setting in and we can expect frost on the front lawns from about now until mid May, if this year was anything to go by. :rotfl:

Got some garden tidying done yesterday but not much. The soup making went really well but made 4 lots rather than my normal 3, so there's now about 2.5L of cream of split pea soup in the freezer. LETS trading went well, as SM already mentioned, with 4 of us swapping & trading over the weekend. :D I've got the monthly 'meet & trade over coffee' this Wednesday, so I'm hoping it'll be well attended. Bails, we have had a partial LETS wedding already within our group.

Hope having a lodger works out well for you Lynda. I think if I had the space and my own place, that's the route I'd take. :)

Best off to get washing sorted out now, if it doesn't dry on the line, it'll freeze on the line and come in like cardboard but still beats wet on airers all day. Must do my imeasure readings, too!

Lol, it's 2.22pm here Nyk. Funny you mention that, I just set off my LETS form and my mum is posting the cheque for me :j Woohoo, soon I will be a fully fledged LETS member too, trading from Nepal :rotfl:
Sounds lovely in your garden. I can't decide if I'm missing the lead up to Christmas or not - don' t think I am TBH, will look forward to it next year though.

I saw my nephew on Skype the other day, he's so cool! Will be fun to get to know him when I get back.

Right, must get out and enjoy myself :o

Sorry folks, but I'm on the scrounge again! I fancy making a cauliflower cheese for dinner tonight & have been pondering various permutations :D
    1. Can I use the water from boiling the cauli in the sauce, & if so how?
    2. I'm not terribly convinced on the cornflour method of making a white sauce either, so any advice gratefully received.

Plenty of other thoughts are whizzing around the old noggin too--well--there's acres of open space for them in there :rotfl:You all seem to have such a command over your finances & I want that too :o It's all very well having a Grocery challenge but a bit pathetic when I increase the total at will, so I HAVE to start being more controlled before I get into serious troubles. It really doesn't help when someone has to moan about the main meal every day SIZE=1]more often than not it's the same person[SIZE=2 or that home baking is off limits, unless you have a low fat version for Twinks :p
Having said that I am more conscious of where my money goes & do shop around for a bargain where ever possible, but I still can't fathom the cash-back thingies to save my life! I guess because I rarely buy online it wouldn't be of great benefit to me anyway; it's only motor insurance or maybe flea treatment at the most.

A great loss to my budgetting will be the little pet shop that also sells lovely local eggs & bits of veg. The chap is closing for good at the end of the month & I feel strangely bereft to think he won't be there--he has a wealth of good, old fashioned advice on canine care SIZE=1]invaluable as first time dog owners[/SIZE & a genuinely all-round nice guy. Bl00dy recession

    Hi BigMumma! :D

If you want to use the cauliflower water then I'd use that to make up some dried milk and then blend it with your flour & marg/butter instead of ordinary milk. It does work, trust me. :) I seldom use cornflour, I just use plain flour. :)
