    Hi Everyone
Haven't felt much like wittering lately (have been lurking though) but feel I should crawl back out of the woodwork.
Have mainly been crocheting a ripple blanket for MIL who is not very well and I've put myself on a bit of a deadline with it. I'm really pleased with it but wish I had made it just a bit narrower and finding it quite heavy and cumbersome when I'm working on it now as it's got pretty big. Made a few poppies this evening as light relief from Pam's pattern which worked really well. Have also been on the GIOL thread a bit - needs must and all that....
Hope everyone is well. Great to see some noobs posting - :hello:to you all.
Off for a glass of wine now
    Night x

Good morning all; up early due to waking up with a cough. As usual, a cold will always go to my chest so I expect to have a few sleepless nights! Luckily, it didn't stop me going to sleep for a few hours, it just woke me up, then I started thinking about a cuppa, then I had to get up! I ended up lazing about for most of yesterday under a blanket (not a crochet one, sadly, but a great one I've had for years that is instantly warm). I don't actually feel that unwell, so I think, hopefully, that it's only a mild cold.

Jean - thanks so much for taking over the updating for me, and I hope you had a great evening with your guests.

Shaz - good luck to Daniel with the new meds.

Shez - those pictures are great!

K2tog - good to hear from you. I agree with you about the ripples - I'm doing one for DGS for Christmas and it's got really heavy so I'm alternating it with a few poppies, too. I made DGD's with a huge granny-square which didn't seem so cumbersome, but I thought it would be too girly for DGS! I'm going to make a couple of cushion covers in the ripple, for my Mum, but they will only be small and should be a lot easier.

I've had an email from Rachel's Crochet Spot http://www.crochetspot.com/ which includes a link to some video-on-demand tutorials and patterns. They're just half hour videos and are really great - here's the link http://www.dptv.org/ondemand/kc/kcvodarchive.shtml There should be something there for everyone.

Well, I'm off for another cuppa then I shall sit and crochet (and doze off, probably) for a couple of hours, so I'll catch up later.

Good morning knitters :-) Hope you all have a happy knitting day today. I'm going to get on with some of my baby knitting. Trying to work out how many crochet squares I will need to make for a cot blanket ?? Any suggestions ? I shall be doing it in double knit with a size 4 crochet. Not sure whether to do a 5 hole square or a 7 hole square. All these decisions, not good at my age, or at least so early in the morning lol
    A work in progress :D

Morning Salome - I think Shelley does them at 16 x 16 inch but I guess bigger is fine if it fits in with your pattern better.

Hi everyone from the land-of-the-sniffles! Thanks, once again, to the fantastic Jean, I have posted the latest update on to my blog. Jean not only set the whole spreadsheet up, she even did the latest update for me, for which I am truly grateful. Heaven only knows what it would have been like if I'd done it with my stuffed-up head!

Will catch up later. I'm just off to have some lunch and then I'll be spending the rest of the day under a blanket with my crochet, and calling in here every now and again!
