morning ladies
hope that you are all okay and getting on with things.
chalky, forgot to tell you that i sent 2 boxes of squares to you. unfortunately those were the only boxes i could find, so sorry about that. if the squares are okay, i have some more for you, just let me know.
may - thank you for the patterns. i have decided, someone should find a "standard" crochet jumper pattern (that is a little nicer than the oxfam jumper) that we should all crochet. i am working through my patterns and have found one or two that are okay, but they are all small. i will continue by working through all of may's patterns. do you think i may be getting bored with oxfam jumper pattern and have got to the stage i need something a little more challenging.
all that talk yesterday about the books - i think i should treat myself to one, and will have to make the big decision soon.
kathy, thank you for the lovely offer of help, you are very kind. i think i have got the broadband thing in hand, and the telly/satellite stuff should be in hand be the close of play tomorrow. however, i may be pm'ing you more than you expected rather sooner than you might be prepared for. i think i am going to be a little out of my depth, so thank you once again, i will take you up on your offer.
anyway, going to check out may's good value dk prices. i should be cutting back on my stash, but, if it is cheap, its rude not to look.
have a lovely day, and speak soon

mrs moneypenny, you've been really busy with all that sewing.
maytaurus, thanks for the lovely links, for anybody thinking of using that ebay seller, i can well recommend them, they email when they send orders out, and deliver really quickly in my experiance.
talking of books, just ordered knitted toys, by sharon walsh, off ebay, maureen at LH has a copy and it has some gorgeous toys in it.
hugs all

I am waiting for a phone call from my friend Jan, I mentioned a while ago her OH has a tumour in his head, well, he went into the Queen Elizabeth Tuesday and had the operation yesterday they told her it would be about an 8 hour op.
So we are just waiting now to see how it all went. O I hope he is ok he is 71 so no spring chicken but he is very fit and active.
A little prayer would be appreciated if you feel you could :A

Hi everyone
May - what fantastic links; thank you so much. There's loads to look through there! I may be gone some time! I hope you feel a lot better soon.
Sockknitter - how are things with you and your boys? I was thinking about you all a lot yesterday.
DPixie - have you joined AngloInfo - it's an excellent organisation that operates all around the world for ex-pats. They have a brilliant forum that I've used loads of times for various reasons and I've always had great advice. There should be one for your particular part of France. TotalFrance is good, too, but I recommend AngloInfo more! If you need help translating letters in French, Google Translate is brilliant and they even translate audibly now so you can hear how you should be saying things. For any letters I have to write in French (and there have been many over the last twelve months!) I check them on Google Translate. I also keep the writing really simple, almost like talking to a child, so that the point I am making doesn't get lost in the translation, IFSWIM! As I have said, though, my greatest source of advice for all things French is Jean - she is brilliant!
Well, I ordered two books from Amazon yesterday - the postage came to £6 something which is a lot but I didn't want to wait for them! I ordered the 201 Blocks by Jan Eaton and the 100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet by Lesley Stanfield. Altogether it came to just over £20 including the p+p, which is great considering they have to be sent overseas. I will check out the eBay seller, too, just in case she has some other gems I could do with! I will also make up an order for Kemps because I'm running out of useful colours in DK and it's so expensive here for lower quality wool.
ISOM - luckily, I hadn't ordered the books before I checked to find that I already had one of them!
Chalky - I bet Rod was brilliant. I absolutely love him and have most of his All American Songbook CDs (which I think really show off his voice) as well as some old stuff. Whenever I see him on TV he always comes across as a lovely chap, too.
Mrs Moneypenny - your sewing machine must be really hot these days! My Mum says I can have her old one which she has just had serviced; she's bought herself a new one now. I must remember to pick it up next time we're in the UK. My sewing is not my best point but I may have improved with age!
I've completed all the squares for the cushion for my old chair but, as I haven't got an inner for it, I will put it to one side and get on with either some Chalky or Mrs Twins squares, or some preemie hats - depends on what colours I can find in my stash. I will get the cushion inner next week - I think I've found somewhere that sells odd sizes of foam. I don't think I can get away with a standard cushion size but, having said that, I could take apart two and turn them into one - must get my thinking cap on!
Well, I must get on with the update now.
Hope you all have a good day and (((hugs))) for those MIA at the moment.

pippa, you and your friends are in my thoughts and prayers today
kathy, me and the boys are fine, thanks for asking. the boys have been on these meds for 3 yars, so nothing new has happened, we are just anxious that we get an appointment as soon as possible for the blood tests and ecgs to go ahead, and that the results are good.
we have a holiday planned for 29th this month, and i'm hoping the tests will be done before then.
hugs all
