Away to have another bash at the coloured/patterned baby blanket - will let you all know how it goes, providing I don't chuck it in the bucket in a mood at the end of the day.
Hope you all have a really good day - although it's now half gone.

  • Hi all, just been reading through and catching up. I went into town this morning and decided to call into our local Poundstretcher to see what (if any) wools they had and was quite impressed. They had some packs of DK on offer 5 x 100g balls per pack for £3.99. It was very tempting but did manage to resist as they didn't have any of the colours I need to use in the blanket I am making at present but did manage to find some on a market stall. I have an idea to do one next just in different shades of blue (blue being my fave colour). Better get on with this one first before then though.
Very best wishes to you all, Kath

    Afternoon everyone,

I took a pic of the pattern for the flowers, but it did'nt come out very well so here's a pic of the ones I did, they are so easy and dont take long.
I will put the pattern at the end.
I did change some of the terms though as it took me ages to think what BO meant, then realised its US for Cast off ;)
I used DK but if 4ply is used they should come up a bit smaller

    KNITTED FLOWER
Needles and yarn any to suit yourself.
There is only one row to this flower after you have cast on.
    Cast on 40 sts
    Row 1:
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 2 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 4 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 6 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 8 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 10 sts on your right needle)
Cut your yarn 8” long. Thread the 8” tail through each of the remaining 10 stitches.
Secure tail and shape flower. Sew in ends.

    Hope this works
