morning all,
lorna, really sorry to hear the sad loss of your mum(((hugs)))
kathy, what a lovely dress for summer
had a go at the first of the crochet squares yesterday, not very successful, seems very fiddly and i cant keep the edges of my square straight, so i pulled it out, may have another go later today.
royal mail, (didnt know they worked sunday), has brought me another lovely parcel from kemps, the second one i've had this year. ds's tell me i have more than enough wool, so jokingly said my new years resolution would be to buy no more, til i have used my stash, would have got away with it too, if it had been delivered on a school day lol.

Good morning.
Totals update is: 1 Vent Bonnet
That's all I've done this week as I have been knitting other stuff too. It's swings & roundabouts I suppose and evens out over the course of a year. Mum was planning on sitting in the conservatory, where the light is good, and knitting today while Dad was watching snooker/rugby/any sport thats on  so I'll start posting her totals from next Sunday.
I'm halfway through the Sunday lunch so will get going (I still need to get dressed) and will pop back on later. Hugs & love to anyone who needs it this morning xx

Hi everyone
Only been lurking this week because things have been a bit hectic - but I have managed to get some knitting done!
I've also got a copy of the Happy Hooker and am going to give crochet another go - I've never got beyond making chains but have given myself the challenge to learn this year.
Hugs to everyone who is going through tough times, my thoughts are with you.
Gill
Total for this week:
1 bunting
1 Chalky squareIf swimming is good for your figure, can someone please explain whales?0 -
Hi everyone.
Lots of gentle (((hugs))) for LC Wilson, Pam, Sunny Girl, Elaine, and Maytaurus.
Chalky - that recipe looks wonderful and I can almost smell it from here!
Late for me on here because friends called in for coffee this morning and we've been gassing. It's a beautiful day today - I can't believe how lovely it is. I've washing on the line and DH is working outside on the step. We were just going to have one step; he's decided on two now but he doesn't have enough tiles to finish the job, so will use what he has and then we'll have to find some more. They are very old traditional 'tomette' tiles which look lovely but are hard to come across! Still, it's looking great so far and I'll take a photo later on today when he's used up what he's got.
I hope the weather is good in the UK, too. It's about time you had some good weather, isn't it?
Thanks for all your lovely totals so far. I have nothing to add to mine pathetic two squares because this has been the most hectic of weeks. I shall try and buckle down next week.
I will update probably on Tuesday because tomorrow is fully booked up with car goings-ons!
I have just been very good and finished the ironing - I just keep forgetting about it because I 'hide' it in the utility room and ignore it when I go in there! When DH asked if he had 'any t-shirts in this house at all' I knew it was time I did it! I could have told him to iron them himself but I want him to get on with the work on the house!
Kinsey - yes, it's a typically French dress which was what I was looking for. I could have bought loads of stuff and had to restrain myself!
Anyway, I'd better go and decide what to do for lunch so I will see you all later.

Elaine - DH's new tyres are fine at the moment. As they cost €300 for four, they had better not let us down! You had back luck with yours, didn't you? The van also needs to have the headlights altered to face the 'French' way, plus a new wing mirror; those are being fitted tomorrow at 8.30, then my car is due for MOT at 1.30, then the van will be re-MOT'd at 5.30! It's all a bit confusing so I hope we get it all done in order! I know my car will need the headlights altering but, on some models of mine, they can just be altered with a switch, so I'm hoping that's the case. It always goes straight through the MOT so I'm hoping they won't find anything else wrong with it. The next step will be to get French plates put on both cars. If a car fails the MOT here, you still get two months in which to drive it around but you must get the failures sorted before it can be re-MOT'd. Another plus is that the MOT is every two years - it costs around €60 which is not bad considering we can forget about it for two years.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

F1Widow - you're not a pain, so please don't think you are! Getting the figures right so everyone is happy with them is the important thing.
