    Evening all,
we had a lovely meal nice juicy steak, salad and very hot fries and toffee apple pie and custard for pud it was yummmmy. Always tastes better when you dont have to cook it yourself I always think ;):D

Just as we came out a lady walked in with a christmas pudding on her head....nooo not a real one..... a knitted one and it looked really good.
Very similar to a Jean Greenhowe tea cosy pattern I have somewhere

Elaine - ooo spooky what a coincidence. I bought some Marakesh yarn from e'bay 20 - 50g balls for £6 in a green, black and yellow silky mix, sounds yukky but its quite nice really, and the seller sent me 3 free patterns as well, what a bargain :T
Kathy - the little dress for Summer looks so cute, love the flowers. Yes the rowan spray is very different to anything I have used before its sort of felty ish, its all browns, greens, and tan very nice though. I would put a pic of it on here but I seem to have lost the Imageshack link goodness knows why
ISOM - thanks for the rowan pattern link I'll go have a look at them

Off for a cuppa and a night on the sofa with my knitting, want to finish youngest DGD's cardi now I have the wool, so enjoy your evening everyone

Right all, I have continues with the knit row pearl row and am now doing a big block of the purple in k2p2. BUT, it keeps curling inwards . If i iron it will that fix it? Or will it straighten out once off the needles? :D Thanks for all the kind comments xxx
Can anyone help? I don't see the point in knitting this if it's going to just curl inwards, so I am literally at quit or continue point :)

Often blocks of plain/purl knitting (stocking stitch) will curl inwards but then when they are sewed together into a pattern the fact that they are sewed together stops it being a problem iyswim. Are you knitting a square ? Perhaps you could press it lightly (under a hanky) when it is finished ? There are other options using different stitches (the easiest being knit every row), and some wools may 'curl' more than others.
Ok, hopes this helps somewhat zippy.

Oh bum. It's a scarf. Or supposed to be but i think i might make it into a headband as the curling in is off putting! I need to learn what stitches produce what result. Perhaps plain knit would be better then for a scarf? Would i use bigger needles? Using 4s now. Thanks, it really does help :) Sorry for being an impatient mare, Im sick today and grumpy he he. Thanks so much. Yous are all stars

    Hi everyone,

Zippy, I do feel for you as you've been doing so well as Orkney said the curling in normally happens when knitting in stocking stitch(k 1 row, P1 row) for a scarf and being new to knitting, maybe stick to garter stitch(knit very row) its quicker too. As you've already done so much maybe do more strips the same length and sew them together to make a blanket. Don't give up as your doing fab.:D

I just came on to say :xmassign: to all you lovely people as I probably wont get a chance after today.

Enjoy your hols everyone see you after christmas.:xmastree:
