Thanks to all for having a look at our blogs- It is lovely to think they are being enjoyed. I know what you mean though Kathy . To begin with its was taking me ages and much steam coming out of my ears.
Pfungi -- That scarf is really beautiful -- what a lovely pattern and combination of colours.
Orkney Star-- you are so good doing a crib- I think they look beautiful. But I love quick things and that looks a long project.
I have always had a bit of a butterfly mind and last night right in the middle of the lapacuddlyghan I thought " Oh I know I wanted to try the ripple pattern. Ummm well I did 1 row but need to write the instructions on a piece of paper so that I don't keep having to scroll up and down the computer. Last Year I went to Yoga is Spain and the lovely lady kept on about just focusing on the "now" and only 1 thing at a time WELL I need to go back because it has slipped away from me during the summer !
Well we have family and friends coming for a roast so I am going to sign off wishing you all a happy day.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

Hi all - not been on much today because I'm feeling a bit under the weather for some reason. I just can't get warm, and it's bright and sunny here. I'm wearing a t-shirt, a jumper and a cardi, and I'm still cold. I had something similar when we first moved here - it didn't develop into anything else, so I thinks it just one of those things. I'm taking it easy for the rest of the day and doing some crochet.
Pam - that scarf is gorgeous - what kind of yarn is it? It's really unusual.
Thanks for being interested in my blog - I was going to add some photos today but my brain is not firing on all cylinders, so I'll do it tomorrow. I'll also do the update - thanks for all your totals. I just have a few IS hats to add to mine - nothing too taxing at the moment. Must get them posted off tomorrow or Tuesday. It takes about five days from France to the UK, but with the strikes on, I need to get them off asap.
Chalky - have a go at the ripple blanket in Attic 24's blog - she has put photos of each stage as well as the pattern in full. I'm using it for DGS's lapghan - in two blues and white.
ISOM - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and wishing you lots of luck with the knitting group - can't wait to hear all about it!
Orkney Star - hope the painkillers have worked. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog!
Well, DH is still working on the bedroom in the attic. It's very challenging and he's enjoying every minute of it, thankfully.
Anyway, off for a warming cuppa. See you all later.

Louis sounds so sweet mioliere, I love my dogs but I do miss the cats. One that we had years ago loved cheese, and DH was doing some cheese on toast, which Lucy cat could obviously smell, she ended up with whiskers and long eyebrow hair looking as if it had been permed! They grew back ok though. If I start on Pet Tales of the Unexpected I'll end up with a book, but I guess we all could.
ISOM good luck for tomorrowand the knitting group, but I'm sure it'll be great. What do plan to do to start it off?
love to all xxx0 -
Today have finished off a LH hat in deep pink using 2 circulars (which is a new technique for me) and crocheted a flower for the front - to cover a naughty stitch I didn't notice til too late
. I'm really please with it and will put a pic on wooligans at some point.
What to start now.....0 -
Have been doing my blankie and am 8 rows up from my made up blankie - will post when a bit bigger!! First batch of stuff boxed and ready to go to loving hands...thank you hugely for postage linky may!! Box is huge!!
Hugs re the freezer door being open...gutting. Lodger doing ok but some "confusion" over whose wine is whose so will return to red and keep it near...some things are sacred after all!!
Will print off some patterns for tomorrow and take them but hopefully people will bring their projects with them....first group meeting of any group is always nerve racking but I have lead groups for work so feel comfortable doing them and can be sociable when needed!! Will keep you posted!! Off to hunt out a knitting pattern pour moi!! Bon nuit mon cherie!! Pfungi parcel will be on the way tomorrow...:)Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Evening all
I know, I know - been MIA for far too long (I think I was just about to go on hols, and that was the end of July!!
Anyway, needless to say, I have been lurking as I haven't really felt like posting, and am just beginning to find something that resembles something close to normality - so coming back to the real world slowly.
Will do an depth update over the next day or so, but wanted to say quietly "helloo..."
Been busying myself with C*******s stockings, multicoloured boobs, and hedgies (in varying sizes...we have 2 families of Mummy, Daddy and several babies) along with a Jean Greenhowe snowman (complete with sparkly blue bowler). Done some buntings and some gowns, a cardi for neice and a hat and scarf for DS's friend for her birthday. So, been busy but not v "with it".
Stash seems to be growing ... how does that happen?? :rotfl:
Quick question, and I *think* I've seen the answer somewhere, but can't find it - I know people are having various fund-raisers soon, can someone tell me who, when, when's the deadline and what's needed please??!
Big huggles, and I'll be back soon --
Dawn xx :A:hello:0 -
Evening all (oh eck I sound like Dixon of Dock Green) , did some h*******k but I was a bit selective,
put my jeans through the wash, changed bed – Oooh I just adore clean sheets! – then I just had to sort out my bookshelves (‘cos the piles on the stairs had got dangerous!!:rotfl:)
I’m actually more obsessed with books than with woolshops, books/reading have been my constant thing for the last 50 years or so. I’m always tempted by books even when I’m knitting & not reading obsessively. I refuse to count how many books I own (I only save the ones I think I’ll read again) lets just say I have 3 units of bookshelves – the bottom 3 shelves of one unit is “keepers” (double stacked) and I have a couple of shelves of non fiction/reference books. Then across the other 2 units I’ve probably got 120+ yet to read! I have to say that most of them are bought when on offer i.e 3 for 2 or, even better, supermarket bargains. That’s my excuse!!!
Thanks for all your nice comments about my Scarf, the wool I used is a variegated “sock yarn” i.e 4 ply, Regia, Design Line by Kaffe Fassett which, I think explains the lovely colour mix. The colourway is Exotic Clay. I used 3 balls for the scarf. I’ve just ordered two more lots, this time 4 balls from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/artofyarn in colourways, Exotic Ember and Mirage Carribean.
The pattern I used is a very easy one http://aemmeleia.wordpress.com/2008/02/22/eye-of-partridge-shawl/ the eye of partridge stitch breaks up the colours because the stitches are k1 slip1 across the row then the “wrong side” is purled.. This also adds a nice texture.
OK I’m obviously in full waffle mode and it’s now turned midnight – Oops! – so maybe I should close now.
Night, night God Bless!
Luv
Pam:smileyheaPam.:hello:0
