shaz you need to ring the police and report it. I'd also let the school know as it was said to your son at school so their anti-bullying policy should be able to ensure something gets done. i hope your son is feeling ok and that nothing else happens

Been into town (Birmingham city centre) today ,met a friend who treated me to lunch for my birthday, she said its an early present as we can't meet up next week. Went to an Hotel and had a businessman's lunch it was really yummy 2 courses £4.95 pud for £1 and then a pot of tea, good value too
I thought it was really nice of her, we dont get together very often so we don't stop talking when we do meet up.
Had a nice wander around the shops got a few bits and pieces, I was quite surprised how quiet it was, usually it's manic up there especially in the new Bull Ring.
Shaz - (((hugs))) you sure are going through it at the moment,

Can anyone tell me how long I should do a scarf for a 9yr old girl? I want it to last but not be adult size iykwim!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

ISOM I think I read somewhere that a scarf should be as long as the person is tall, anyone else heard that?
Shaz that's awful, for you and your son. Isn't there some way you could move out of that area? I know that's drastic but it was the first thing I thought of when I read your post, because that's how I would personally feel. No wonder you've been so low.0 -
This is going to sound strange lol
I am a very nervous passenger (hate travelling) and had the idea that I would crochet while travelling. sooooo when on hol couple of weeks ago I realised I could not possible follow a pattern so decided to just do a granny square, we did journey down south to stay with my parents I did a 100gm ball of wool square, we then went through the tunnel to visit OH's brother in Holland and now I have 5 squares
My question is, is there anything I can do with them, should I wait till I have done more journeys so I can join to a big blanket, and would I be able to donate said big blanket to anyone.
Have to say, it worked. I was calm on journey, even when we had a very near miss, I just comment that oh, I think i missed a treble there lol
ps we are going back down south over xmas so thats at least a ball there and back, 2 more big squareswhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Good morning everyone and thanks for all your good wishes - I am definitely feeling a lot better now, except that I'm getting through so many tissues! I'm sure I've blown my brains out - not that the difference would be noticed. Colds like this usually end up on my chest but it seems this one has decided to stay in my head, which I much prefer - coughing wears me out! DH thinks I've recovered more quickly than usual because of the bowls and bowls of homemade onion soup I've had, and the fresh fruit salads that he's made - so much vitamin C, he could be right!
His finger seems to be healing well, despite the fact that we've not heard from the nurse who was supposed to coming in every other day. We've changed the dressings ourselves, and will just call in to the hospital over the next couple of days to get it checked.
Shaz - what a terrible thing to happen. I can't think of anything to say except to echo what others have said and call the police. (((Hugs))) to you and your family.
Well, I've spent my sofa-time making poppies (20 now) and the second of a pair of sporty-type crocheted booties, which I'm making in pink, grey and white, for my latest granddaughter. I ran out of the pink with just one row of 16sts, and an edging of 50-odd stitches, but I think I have the same wool that I used for an unfinished project lurking somewhere. I couldn't look for it last night because I need to wait for daylight to make sure the pinks match! The pattern is really lovely and I will post a photo when they're done.
Dazi - welcome to you. Loving Hands http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/contact.htm will take any number of squares, and yours will be most welcomed. Well done on using that passenger-time so constructively!
Well, hopefully, now that I'm back in the land of the living, so to speak, I shall be able to keep up with you all.
Maytaurus - I hope you are OK?
Chalky - you must be making the most of your time with your DD.

Miolere- Glad to here you're on the mend. Onion soup sounds yum. Chicken soup is supposed to be good as well so I've heard :-)
Shaz- That's terrible for you. Hope something gets sorted, because it's so unfair on you and your family. Will be thinking of you. Bully's are cowards.
My dad, who is in a care home had a nasty seisure yesterday. He has pulled through, but he's very weak, and his eye sight has returned. it may still do, because it has in the past a little while after he's had one of these.
All of you have a good and productive day :-)
